This poster represents Ophelia's funeral. During the funeral, Laertes is heartbroken because both his sister and dad died very close together. During the funeral, Laertes gets upset because he doesn't think that Ophelia's death is being treated with the respect it should be. Laertes says, "And from her fair and unpolluted flesh may violets spring"(248 5.1.) This shows that he cares about Ophelia and he knows in death that she should be respected and valued. He hopes that violets will grow from her grave. To show this in my poster I included a picture of violets. I also included the quote that Laertes said. I think the purple and yellow creates an abstract look that is important for minimalism. I also included a picture of a girl drowning over the violets. This shows Ophelia's death and how she will be remembered. I put the body over the violets because more people will remember Ophelia in a negative light compared to how Laertes sees her.

This poster represents the fencing battle. In this scene, Hamlet and Laertes fight. Laertes has poisoned the end of the sword because Claudius told him to do so. Claudius also poisoned Hamlet's wine, so when he gets thirsty he would drink poison and die. During the fight scene, Hamlet does not drink the wine, Gertrude does and then dies. Hamlet realizes that the wine is poisoned. He forced Claudius to drink the wine and die. After this, Hamlet dies because he was struck with the sword during the fight. For this poster, I included a picture of a fencing outfit to show the fight. I also included a wine glass that is spilled. This symbolizes all the blood and death that was shed during the fight. I made it so the spilled wine looks like blood on the feet of the fencer to symbolize that the deaths that happened were on Claudius and will always stay on his conscious. This time Claudius could not cover up these murders, just like you can't wash out large quantities of blood from white clothes. This poster also symbolizes deception because everyone that dies in this scene has a motive that is not known by everyone else. Claudius and Laertes wants Hamlet to die. Hamlet wants Claudius to die. All of the people did not know what each other's deeper intentions were just as in the poster there is multiple levels of meaning.

This poster represents when Hamlet kills Polonius. During this scene, Hamlet was talking with his mother in the bedroom. During this talk, Polonius was behind the tapestry on the wall spying on them. Polonius and Gertrude did not think that Hamlet would notice that there was a person behind the curtain but he does. During Hamlet and his mother's talk, he becomes aggressive. Gertrude calls for help, so Polonius starts to move and yell. After Hamlet realizes that it is a person behind the tapestry, he begins to stab the tapestry. Hamlet ends up killing Polonius before he sees who it is. Hamlet thought that he was killing Claudius. In this poster, there is a blood splatter that shows the wound that Hamlet inflicted on Polonius. There is a sword that Hamlet used to kill him. There are also feet at the bottom of the page to show that there is a person there but you can't see who it is. I also used a black background to symbolize mystery. This is because you are not able to identify who is behind the tapestry, just as Hamlet wasn't able to. I wanted it to be hard to see all of the parts of the posters at once. I used this so the person looking at the poster has the same view as Hamlet did.

This poster shows that all of Hamlet's actions reflected the conversation he had with the ghost of his dad. He believed that everything he was doing was to revenge his dad. In reality, Hamlet thought he was doing things for his father but he began to do things for himself. This was seen with how he treats his mom. He scares and threatens his mom when that is the exact opposite of what King Hamlet tells Hamlet to do. To show this I put a shadow behind the first person. I did this because it shows that Hamlet sees himself fulfilling what his father would want. I put speckles over this because we as readers and other characters in the play see that Hamlet's actions are tainted from what he should be doing. I also chose to make Hamlet white because it symbolizes innocence and purity. Hamlet views himself in these ways because he always thinks that what he is doing is the right thing to do.
