Today is Wednesday,August 30th,2023. The teacher left us an assignment last class that consisted of making a collage about books that we had read throughout our lives, when we arrived at classes we sat in a circle and explained each of our drawings. After we finished our explanations of our collage the teacher gave us some books and we had to put with post its at what level we thought they were directed (Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle school or High school).

Today is Tuesday, September 5th,2023. In this class we were discussing what was literature, in this period I wonder how to know what was literature and what was not.Also we were talking about WW2 because before there was not so many novels, entertainment, different books and now we have the access of all this entertainment. In this lesson I remember that there are 4 types of literary genres( Fiction, Non fiction, Poetry and Drama)

Tuesday,September 12th,2023 , in this class we recapitulate "What was literature" and we conclude that literature is everything it could be oral or written and it can also be created by an artist or a person who is not an artist. After this we create a poster where we put the definition, characteristics and subgenres of poetry then we exposed it to the group. Likewise, my other classmates create a poster and they spoke about the other genres of literature.

Wednesday 13th, Today we got to the computer lab and the team of the Drama genre start presenting their poster because they couldn't present the last class because time ran out. After this presentation the teacher gave us the instruction to create a poster of the four genres of literature and we had to put the definition,characteristics and some examples of each one.

Tuesday Sep 19th, in this class the teacher read to us the book of Ferninand, also we had the opportunity to see the movie. Honestly, I had never read the story but I reallly like it because it was engage.

Wednesday Sep, 20th. Today we talked about the author of the book Ferdinand (Munro Leaf), we were sharing information about his life, book, etc. Also in this class we learned how to do a Literary Analysis. A literary analysis contains, Pilot, context, characters, symbols, narration and a personal opinion. We work in teams of 3 people and we do a literary analysis of the book Ferdinand. Finally the teacher gave us a task that was to do a literary analysis of a fiction story or movie that we liked the most.

In these classes we made a biography of our favorite artist, in this case I made it from Kenia Os, who is a singer, we also started to create our presentation, we could make it physical as well as digital. The teacher told us that we could create our artist with paper, thread, cardboard, etc., as long as we were creative. I made my presentation digitally and I made my artist out of cardboard.

Today we began to look at the topic of poetry, in this class I learned that poems are written in prose, that the most common themes in poetry are love, nature, friendship, war, growing up, etc. Poetry is usually used to express feelings.
There are 5 types of poetry:
-Rhymed poetry
-Haiky
-Free viewing
-Acrostic
-Shape poem
and there are 3 classifications of poetry:
-Lyrics Poetry: Personal emotions or feelings, typically in the first person
-Narrative poetry: A story, often with thr voices of a narrator and characteristics as well
-Descriptive Poetry: It uses elaborate mental descriptions and adjectives.
The teacher gave us the task of bringing a printed poem that was rhyme or free verse.

Today I learned what each part of the structure of a poem is called, as well as what the parts of a poem are, for example, a poem should contain:
-Poem Title
-Author
-Verse
-Type of Stanza- if it has 4 verses it is (Quatrain)
-Someones had rhymes (AA,BB), capital letters, spaces.
-Theme and mood
After seeing what the parts of a poem are, the teacher asked us to exchange poems with a partner and identify each part of the poem in our partner's poem.

Today the teacher asked us what we had seen last class and we began to remind her about what we remembered about poetry, what types of poetry were the most common themes and what it was. We then went on to create our own poem, we could choose the type we wanted such as rhyme, haiky, free verse, acrostic, I chose the rhyming type, at the end we shared them with our classmates who had already finished.

Today we are changing genre, we are now looking at the genre of drama, it is the porayar of fictional or non-fictional events. To define drama in simple terms, it simply means stories brought to life through actors and events on stage.

Drama genres:

-Comedy

-Tragedy

-Tragedicomedy

-Musical

Elements of a Play:

-Title,-Play wright, -Characters, -Cast, -Scenery, -Stage, -Name or character and -Dialogues.

Other Elements:

-Genre -Theme -Plot -Visual Elements(costumes, makeup,scenary) and -Audience.

In this class the teacher assigned us an era and we had to search about the topic, I had to search about oral tradition and we were in the lab looking for information about the topic and at the end of the class each one of my classmates commented about their topic. Later the teacher made a timeline on the blackboard with chronological order about each one of the eras. In the next class we made our own timeline of the history of English using the notes we made in the class and what we researched.

In this class the teacher told us that the final activity of unit one will be to create a literary analysis of a book, poem, etc, that we have read. What our analysis had to have was, Title, literary genre,english era,year,context,author,plot,characters,symbols,P.O.V, personal opinion and a conclusion of how literature will be important in our career. Today we only did the draft of the analysis but tomorrow we will go to the lab to put it in a document and hand it in.

The teacher assigned us a school grade from kindergarten to secondary school and we had to search on the internet for a book of that grade and upload it to a drive folder so that the other classmates could access them when planning their didactic sequence for the integrative project.

In this class we were working on our micro-teaching session and the teacher went on to ask us what grade we were going to focus on, what approach we were going to use and what genre we were going to be using in our sessions.My team and I have a 5th grade and we will focus on the fiction genre with a language based approach.
