Nobody was flustered - all students had their wits about them. Would have loved to hear the contributions of Indian ancient astronomers being highlighted. The likes of Aryabhat, Bhaskaracharya et al are a constellation in themselves. We wish we had the internet to explore - and were not bogged down by the dogmas of text books - while we were in school. Nobody encouraged us to explore the story within the story - Vasco Da Gama initially (in 1498) came in search of spices but his second expedition to India in 1502 was clearly to wage a war with the Zamorin of Calicut!!
