When I'm arranging music on my own, I often start from listening and find resources (e.g. scores) as I go along. However, doing this with students can be challenging as they're often not sure where to start (especially when there are many musical layers). Today's course helped me think about ways in which I can help to scaffold this listening process for my students (rather than changing the process because I assume that my students are not ready yet).

I like the active listening because one tends to be biased towards listening out to a preferred instrument, but today, one has to remain objective and listen out/demonstrate to all instruments equally on the various softwares (iPad garageband/bandlab).
