This can be heavily affected by airport design, this is where technological advancements have their impact. Flexiblity is imporrtant for airports because thing are fast changing.

The focus on the design isnt just how it looks it can also how threat can be mimimized for personal saftey which then can increase saftey and property values and retail opportunities (Llyod, 2003). This is where the incrase technology can help support the saftey at the airport.

 A researcher argues that sense of the enviroment is based on symbolic meanings attributed to the setting. which is different in each person.

Resluting in sense of place being based on people own  interpretations so its created by people own expirences. This means the enviroment has to satfiy their needs. This can also help to create loyalty.
