<title>The group’s roots are loosely based in Freemasonry. The Freemasons originated in the Middle Ages when stone masons were heavily called upon for cathedral building. As the need for cathedral building diminished, so did the stone masons. To bolster membership the Freemasons began accepting other craftsmen. As we see today these Freemasons were focused on social gatherings that would allow them to let off steam but, the Shriners felt that they needed to have a sense of direction.</title>

<title>Over the last century the Shriners’ Brotherhood has donated money for disaster relief, provided unique opportunities for medical research, and gone above and beyond for needy children. Their hospital system consists of 22 non-profit facilities nationwide, with two more in Canada and Mexico respectively. They have pioneered new medical record keeping techniques enabling records to be shared nationwide that are still being used and improved upon today. These men have accomplished it all with the purest of intentions. The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine is not only a groundbreaking organization but, a role model for us all.</title>
