How to measure your heart rate - miranda

~ There are different ways you can measure your heart rate, the most common way to find your maximum heart rate is to simply subtract your age from 220. (example: 220 - 17 = 203)

~ If you’re looking to find your BPM ( beats per minute ) heart rate, you can set a timer for One minute, or use a stopwatch, and put your index finger & middle finger on either your wrist or neck. On your neck, your fingers should be right below your jaw. You will then feel your pulse. Count the amount of beats until the timer goes off. This is how you find your average heart rate, it should be somewhere in between 60-100 BPM.

Factors that affect the heart - miranda

~ There are a lot of different factors that play a role in your heart & how high/low your heart rate is.
~ The first two are lifestyle & nutrition. How often do you get good exercise ? What is your diet like ? These both play a major role on your heart. Eating too much junk food & getting little-to-no exercise can lead to a clog in the tube(s) that flows blood to your heart, this can lead to a heart attack.
~ The next factor is Hydration. You need to drink a lot of water. On the daily, you should be drinking at least 3 bottles a day, and always before & after you exercise.
~ Next is your age. As you age, your maximum heart beat will decrease.
~ Knowing all of these factors can help you “know your effort” as well as regulate your intensity level.
