The Sioux religion is that there were underwater spirits who controlled all animals and plants. High in the sky they believed there were Thunderbirds, they believed they were the most powerful spirit, except for the Great Spirit who has the most power of all. They also believed that the White Buffalo Women gave each tribe a pipe, and if they smocked it they believed they could have visions. They lived in the Great Plains, and there are three major divisions. The divisions were Eastern Dekota, Western Dekota, and the Lakota. They were nomads, they followed Buffalo or Bison herds. Made Buffalo skin tips for shelter. Some materials were poles, stakes; tanned buffalo hide in a cone shaped design. Could pack up very easily. They don't get much rain, no more than 8 days, and none less then two. In the winter they ate diried buffalo meat, called pemmican. they also ate many other meats.
