         <description><![CDATA[<div>American Romanticism lasted from 1830 to 1870. Although the movement originated in Europe, US citizens used it to create their own identity different from Europe. Romanticism is a reaction to modernization (the sense of progress) that arose from Europe's Age of Reason, which influenced Deism. Imagination provided an escape from the logical, uncreative reality.
