etwinning report: 16.1.2019

place: Beach next to Saint-Francois and Pointe des Châteaux

Today our visit at the east end of Guadeloupe started with some rainfall. The cloudy sky and the wind emphasized the power of the sea. From the viewpoint on the hill you find a nice about all the islands of Guadeloupe.

For our classroom we went to another outdoor classroom at the beach. We prepared togehter the typical local lunch (sauce du chien) and Michel showed us how to be a natural camper. The fish which we saw several times in the sea (parrot fish) was delicious.

We spoke about the key competences which are very important for the ERASMUS+ application. Everyone presented one key competence and the international activities at school that could support it. So I got a lot of exemple to use in my school like online newsletter, computer games, projects with etwinning. Rita explained how to organize an etwinning project and the aspects to know for the application KA1.

Another great day in paradise. It started with rain, but but the sun came out later on. Apart from visiting the beautiful Pointe du Chateaux and spending the day on the beach, we had a chance to talk about the key competences and shared our ideas on which activities we can do at school to develop these competences. Thank you Rita for sharing with us your experience on how to plan and write a project. The advice is extremely useful and I will definitely use it while applying for new projects.
Today's session again proved that the classroom and equipment is not as important as the people and ideas they have. Everybody can be envious because we learnt a lot in this unusual classroom setting.

Pointe des Chateaux,

Another day in the paradise. Even the rain is so special and welcoming in Guadeloupe. The beach was nice and climbing up that hill gave us the perfect view. Today we talked about key competences and the international activities that can support their development. Rita also gave us some advice on how to write a project. The barbecue on the beach was the perfect end to our lesson for today.

Pointe des Chateaux and beach
Another day with fantastic company and another beautiful outdoor classroom. Today we had a really useful session sharing activities to develop the key competences. We also learnt about how to set up an international project within the curriculum using etwinning. Rita shared her experiences and advice which I found very helpful because I am new to leading international work.

Today is the last day of the course in an outdoor classroom. It has been refreshing to learn outside and it has prompted me to think about the range of learning experiences that I could offer to the children that I teach.

Yet another beautiful outdoor classroom for a session on key competences and activities to develop them. It was great to share ideas and views, and gain a multi perspective view on projects, action plans and linking them to the curriculum. Once again Rita was very informative on developing international projects.

16th January 2019, Saint-Francois - Plage Anse Loquet
For the last time we sat in a classroom without four walls. My benefit today was that we received detailed information on the application for an international Erasmus + KA2 project. Firstly, we looked at the key competences for lifelong learning based on the European Reference Framework. On the other hand, we addressed the questions: What international activities can suppport the development of these competences? In dialogue with the other colleagues, we were able to collect many examples that offer a possible orientation framework for your own future projects. A very important piece of information for me was the presentation of the time schedule for project planning. The focus here should be on good preparatory planning prior to the actual application. Today has given me the "red line" of training, starting with raising awareness of one's national identity and all its facets, to the theoretical and practical implementation of school activities to recognize other nationalities
