Cosmetic tools and jewelry are items still used today in most cultures in order to enhance beauty and physical appearance. Identifying ancient versions of these items allows us to feel a connection to those who have lived before us that found importance in magnifying certain aspects of one's physical appearance. While the "Pair of Earrings" from Iran draw the eye due to their extravagance and complexity, the cosmetic spoon from Egypt has a very simple design yet still invokes interest with the addition of the ankh as the handle. The mirror from Greece balances the simplicity of the mirror itself with the symmetrical and detailed floral design on its lid.
