The builiding had a very old architecture, therefore in 1934 The desicion was made to demolish an build and new one.
The ground floor was distributed for the executive power and the upper floor to The legislature.

When it was being done, the brick makers donated ten thousand bricks. The goverment tried to build altars, benches, confessionals, etc.
The foundation stone was baid with the presence of Carlos Casares and other important peoples.
