The song example i used was Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" and how its pretty much the same as Mike Jones' "Back then" or Chris Brown's "Look at me now". This genre while it may be many peoples favorite genre just doesn't suit me, and its okay, because music is subjective in nature. my mind was not really changed on the genre upon doing research into the song, it just strengthened my argument all the more. i believe hip hop does have a cultural impact, as its gained immense popularity throughout the years, its brought a lot of people together. while i may respect that about the genre, it doesn't make me want to listen to it.
