The lyrics can be seen like a dialogue, where the singer pictures that he’s there at the moment immediately after the disaster and talks to another person, maybe a friend, basically saying that by closing his eyes he can still see the city before the disastro. He also describes what happened: the walls tumbled down, gray clouds rolled over the hills…

We can feel the sadness from the words of the singer.

Furthermore, from my perspective, this lyrics can be associated with another situation: the end of a love story. And this parallelism is because I chose this sogn. In this case the singer is probably talking to a friend as well. 

The song I decided to talk about is “This Town” by Niall Horan, it’s a track out of his first album Flicker, written after his old band the Onedirection split up. I find this song really beautiful and emotionally engaging, his words always give me good feelings and good vibes... I like the fact that he speaks openly about his emotions and that he is not ashamed of what he feels. In fact, he puts all of this in writing his lyrics and creates beautiful songs. He wrote this song with the intention of giving it two meanings: This Town is not only thought of as a simple love song, as you hear many, but it also talks about his personal situation. It speaks of the simplicity of the small town from which he comes and the comfort he feels every time he goes back. This is a clear reference to his hometown in Ireland, in several interviews he stated that his life has changed radically from living in a small town of about 30,000 people to moving to one of the biggest cities in the world, London. He also often reiterated that having travelled extensively for the various tours, he was often away from home and the only place he really felt his own was the town of Mullinghar. In this song he explains that no matter what he does or where he lives, when he comes home it’s like he never left it. In fact, in his song the main theme is the fact that if you come from a small town you will always have it with you, and every time you go back you will see the girl you always liked at the bar, or somewhere else, and in the end everything starts again like a complete cycle, because in small towns everything remains the same.

I find the refrain phrase extremely romantic where it says: "If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you". 

In my opinion it expresses the spontaneity that real relationships have, exactly like in those very romantic love movies I love. I dream of a relationship like this too and one day I would like someone to dedicate a song like this to me, maybe even this one, where basically he’s not ashamed to express all the affection he feels and he doesn’t care what other people think.

He wrote about being disoriented in the sea. About to don't know where is up or down.

People had given a nihilistic meaning to this song. It appeared in the movie The Fight Club, which that movie's meaning fits perfectly.

I chose this song because I like it and I got the opportunity to go to their concert in the summer with some friends.
