It has sparked extensive discussions about its potential to improve educational effectiveness from the perspectives of both educators and students.</p><p><br></p><p>With advancements and development in disciplines of technology, Chat GPT offers real-time interactions with targeted learners. A chatbot is a computer application designed to simulate human-like conversations with users through text and voice. Chat GPT can deliver prompt, valuable, and constructive feedback. Students can acquire knowledge and improve their skills by learning from their mistakes and addressing issues identified by the <strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI)</strong>.</p><p><br></p><p>Educators can utilize Chat GPT to pose essential questions, allowing the AI to respond with insightful comments and references. This capability enables teachers to deliver targeted, comprehensive, and informative feedback, enriching the learning experience for their students. In professional disciplines, like computer science, professional can anticipate that the functionalities of Chat GPT will provide synchronous support and tutoring, adhering to the principles of rule-based chatbots.</p><p><br></p><p>However, it is important to consider the extent to which artificial intelligence, including AI robots, can be deemed "smart," "intelligent," or "wise." While these systems can efficiently extract and process external knowledge, they primarily operate by synthesizing and clarifying information rather than demonstrating true understanding or wisdom.</p><p><br></p><p>The techniques employed in artificial intelligence involve leveraging advanced methodologies such as <strong>natural language processing (NLP)</strong>, <strong>machine learning (ML)</strong>, and <strong>deep learning (DL)</strong>.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I used two passages to describe the importance of developing techniques in generative AI and to explore the further operational advancements of these technologies. I then discussed how <strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI)</strong> has become mainstream and dominant within the global trend. To illustrate this, I provided examples from Hong Kong, highlighting the innovative support for teaching in the region level and how it incorporates academic qualifications, <strong>benefits and progression for students</strong>.</p><p><br></p><p><em>Examples to apply in Language Study 1: Witch Pen </em><strong><em>("巫笔")</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p>From the perspectives of educators and teaching staff, I am pleased to share that Chat GPT and language learning have become major trends that facilitate students' language studies and promote progress in language acquisition. </p><p><strong>With the ever-increasing speed and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)</strong>, AI technology is advancing rapidly, and educational technology applications are becoming more popular. This news is primarily sourced from the Chinese University of Hong Kong's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Day, where some students and alumni introduced a new app called "巫笔" ("Witch Pen"). <strong>Witch Pen ("巫笔") definitely assists and aid students learning and teaching provided effective, functional and successful assessment. </strong></p><p><br></p><p>Among the Year 4 undergraduate students, there is a particularly successful prospective pre-service teacher who has developed the first local AI software for correcting Chinese compositions.<strong> This software can automatically correct student compositions and generate sample essays based on the HKDSE Chinese subject scoring criteria, utilizing question designs and criteria that have been established for over 10 years.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>The CUHK students recognize the comparative advantages of artificial intelligence, it is noting that the app can provide specific and relevant feedback, rather than merely assigning a score. It is very profitable for earning money regarding the social enterprises, as well as providing the foreseeable and visible opportunities to develop the quality education. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>How does the "Witch Pen" apply educational technology? The application of artificial intelligence in this context involves using the software to grade Chinese essays.</strong> After teachers scan students' essays, the software automatically corrects them and generates scores along with nearly every detail, comprehensive and informative comments based on the HKDSE scoring criteria, which include content, expression, structure, typos, and more. Additionally, the software can automatically generate sample essays based on writing topics, learning objectives, and student grades to enhance teaching effectiveness.</p><p><br></p><p>After using the app and applying educational technology, it seems to our group that it can assist teachers in grading, providing comments, and offering useful teaching notes, resources, curriculum design, and materials. Compared to traditional teaching pedagogies, teachers often reflect on time constraints and limitations. On average, teachers mark about eight pieces of writing regarding Chinese compositions (or Chinese writing). A class of 30 students can generate more than 200 essays, resulting in an overwhelming workload.</p><p><br></p><p>Some teachers are very busy and may only provide minimal (i.e. general) feedback, with providing some comments which is not tailor-made, with whole-class mistakes), such as a single comment or simply writing "read." This lack of detailed feedback prevents students from improving their writing skills in a targeted manner. Some principals require teachers to provide detailed comments to students, which increases their workload and affects the quality of teaching.</p><p>If teachers spend a lot of time 'micro-commenting' on each piece and providing high-quality feedback, they face significant challenges and serious workload issues."</p><p><br></p><p>Overall, the main benefits of employing artificial intelligence are that it allows teachers to free up time to prepare lessons and rest, which is conducive to both teaching and learning.</p>]]></description>

These <strong>Chat GPT and GPT-4.0</strong> <strong>artificial intelligence models </strong>increase their speed and extend their capabilities in generating text, image recognition, vision, and audio. The literature review changed the world, and this progress holds significant potential for increasing teaching and learning experiences, including in ELT contexts. <strong>Nowadays, ChatGPT-4o's features</strong> can solve the common challenges in language education, improve <strong>student engagement and interactions, and support teachers</strong> in <strong>delivering more effective instruction, curriculum, teaching, and catering to different teaching pedagogies</strong>. It also sheds light on AI's transformative and revolutionary potential in English language teaching and learning.</p><p><br/></p><p>The growing acknowledgment of the potential of Chat GPT and Hello-Chat GPT 4.0 are significant, like the <strong>immediate, adaptable feedback and increasing interaction, engagement, and customized learning experiences.</strong> More discussion can be provided about the excessive dependence on this <strong>AI technology</strong>. Numerous research studies have greatly enhanced students' learning experience by providing ample practice opportunities and instant corrections. The AI tool can not duplicate the deep understanding and motivational support that human teachers can provide. </p><p><br/></p><p>Apart from the learner's perspectives, we can also show that the teachers concentrate on developing <strong>higher-order skills, like critical thinking, cultural understanding, and perspectives</strong>. English Language Teaching (ELT) can arouse critical thinking skills. Artificial intelligence (AI) could simplify the process of language teaching and learning. Specifically, human-computer interaction in English Language Teaching (ELT) contexts can fully utilize the <strong>efficiency and benefits of integrating AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in English teaching</strong>, emphasizing the potential to revolutionize language learning.</p><p><br/></p><p>Overall, English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners recognized the benefits of technology, such as increased teaching, school technological infrastructure, and EFL teachers' limited professional experience, which prevented technology integration into daily pedagogical practices. Therefore, educators could learn <strong>how to use AI tools like Chat GPT to</strong> <strong>ameliorate foundational language practice while acknowledging the importance of human teachers in developing higher-order skills like critical thinking and cultural understanding in ELT.</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Besides, Artificial Intelligence can provide increasing SCT-based (Social Cognitive Theory (SCT)) strategies to provide new aspects for teachers and students in multilingual classrooms.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>The New Education Technology Applications and its Implications to the disciplines of Chinese Language or Chinese Composition</em></strong></p><p><br/></p><p>It is very pleased and appreciated for school and teacher to have the apps of 'Witch Pen", the software will automatically grade it according to the content, structure, grammar, presentation and expression and other diploma examination scoring criteria within 15 minutes, generating nearly 1,000 words of comments and rewriting suggestions if appropriate and necessary.</p><p><br/></p><p>Till now, the software has been applied to around 90 Hong Kong primary and secondary schools and has tried it out, and the system recorded about 3,500 articles (refer 300 passages in early 2024) that have been graded totally. It was evident to support from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Polytechnic University and the Science Park to provide the innovation fund. The software provided different subscription plans, with prices ranging from $9,000 to $96,000, depending on the needs of the school and how they applied and how the degree the schools supported using the apps and systems.</p><p><br/></p><p>By following 90 school have tried to use the "Witch Pen", we can comprehend that more than 125 registered schools to show off the press conference today, which is more than expected, reflecting the increasing demand for educational technology products. They would like to use the products as well. </p><p><br/></p><p>The schools currently on trial will continue to use the software in the new school year, and will find at least 10 pilot schools to work closely with. The current trial targets are mainly high school students. In response to the addition of practical writing in the Chinese writing paper of this year's Diploma Examination, the team has planned to incorporate the function of automatically marking practical writing to assist candidates in preparing for the Diploma Examination. It can target candidates' weaknesses and provided further improvement suggestions.</p><p><br/></p><p>Finally, it can aid in helping Diploma Examination Candidates prepare for the examination.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think more people are discussed about the positive effectiveness and efficiency after using the "Witch Pen", which brings more about the self-regulated learning and information literacy from the students perspectives, as well as about the assessment literacy and providing constructive feedback and students learning comments by the teacher perspectives. I would like to point out about reflecting whether teacher can't need to mark the work because of applying the artificial intelligence. It is definitely not, teachers become the vital role to trace students performance, monitor students learning progress and provide professional and continuous opinions for follow up. I suggest teachers are well to use the AI to design curriculum and teaching plan, as well as teaching materials. For marking assignment, some of professional experts said that the process or extending contents of writing are evaluated clear, while the first and last paragraphs should be refined. Now, AI is "do the right thing" or "do the things right", perhaps I think we need to be criticized. </p><p><br/></p><p>I can add one thing: The artificial intelligence may be better for marking the Level 2 - Level 4 work as the large data base with the sufficient work sample. But, the Level 5 or above is limited because insufficient samples. Sometimes new vocabulary, concepts and words can not be identified and analyzed based on the limitations of technology as well. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>With the rapid development of technology, Hong Kong’s education sector has also introduced innovative educational technologies in recent years to encourage students to understand the application of technology, increase the proportion of hybrid teaching, and establish the habits of students’ learning autonomy through videos and applications, allowing them to make their own decisions The time, place, content and pace of learning.</p><p><br></p><p>The English application can provide the reading comprehension, which is the process of extracting and interpreting the meaning of text. Why my English apps is fine for students to read paragraphs? I think learning English in Hong Kong definitely provides the lack of context and lack of experience in reading English books and periodicals, results in a weak foundation in English reading comprehension.</p><p><br></p><p>Yet, in addition to reading more, writing more, listening more, and speaking more, targeted language training and exercises are also very important. Simultaneously, the content is boring and difficult, students may lead of lacking of learning motivation to read the passages. So as to alleviate this problem and increase the confidence of Hong Kong students in learning English, the new apps of applying artificial intelligence GPT-3 technology to allow users to select different articles based on the interests and abilities of the people who answer the questions. By generating questions from specified paragraphs, making English reading textbooks more fashionable and interesting.</p><p><br></p><p>Promoting the online learning and self-regulated learning are the best options for improving students learning motivation and ensuring learning effectiveness. </p>]]></description>

The following are some trends in the cyber security world. </p><ol><li><p>Lebanon Cyber Massacre: On Tuesday, 17th Sep, 2024, there was a cyber massacre on Lebanese civilians caused by Israeli malware on mobile phones, pagers and even walkie talkies. This has killed several and injured thousands more. This was one of the most elaborate cyber attacks, with using invisible weapons made from every day objects, leaving traces. This has opened up a dystopian vision where regular daily communication devices are turning weaponised targeting innocent civilians. </p></li><li><p>Zero Trust Security: This is a growing strategy in the cyber world where organisations need to verify every access request when one joins a network. No one is trusted from inside or outside the network otherwise its unverified access is counted as a threat. </p><p>In Hong Kong,  there are some companies that use Zero Trust Security such as HK Electric Company and Kowloon Development Company. The main aim to apply this strategy is to protect their network and applications from cyber threats. </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The technology industry has produced millions, if not billions of electronic products and the numbers are expected to grow in late years. With this, we have created a generation of electronic waste that affects the health of today’s society and the environment as a whole. A few ways to tackle this are: </p><ol><li><p><strong>Green hydrogen</strong>: There is a rise of a new technology called ‘green hydrogen’. It is “hydrogen produced by splitting water by electrolysis” using renewable energy, which makes it a clean energy source. As the cost of it is decreasing, its value in the market is growing. With the usage of green hydrogen, countries around the world can reach for the goal of decarbonisation by 2050. </p></li><li><p><strong>Sustainable computing</strong>: To tackle the issue of overconsumption of computing resources, the UN’s International Telecommunications Union has released goals for sustainable computing - to reduce IT emissions by 45% by 2030. It is expected from tech companies to “design, develop, use and dispose of computing systems in an environmentally-friendly manner. </p><p>There are several companies that are involved in sustained computing. In Hong Kong, a huge example has been set by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Date: October 15, 2024</strong></p><p>I am working as a Student Ambassador on that day, I am very impressed to the seminar about the design of curriculum and how to pursue the wisdom and moral (or civic education) to incorporate in the traditional curriculum. It is also very essential to say that Mathematics curriculum also need to provide more values on shopping, it is very interesting.</p><p><br></p><p>I am also very happy to see that some Hong Kong publisher to discuss about the good thing, like the e-books, VR in the e-books, students resources and how to provide the support to teacher, and students, which give me ideas to share with the group project. </p><p><br></p><p>I am also agree that I can understand some of Mainland China education and how to design a lesson plan with fully used the students learning attention and appropriateness. Simultaneously, I am very elated to hear about Macau curriculum, with how to learn from Hong Kong Curriculum. </p><p><br></p><p>Finally, I will keep my passionate in education and training and explore more teaching materials that includes teaching evaluation and consider the global education framework, benchmarks and lens. </p>]]></description>
