He over heard two mummies who he thought was Miles and Henry, and a Darth Sidious, who had to be Julian. August thought he must have changed costumes at the last second. Then he heard Julian say, "Why do you hangout with him all the time Jack?" then the response was hateful, he claimed he would kill himself if he looked like August. This caused August to avoid Jack, and made Jack confused and little angry. Thanks to Summer, Jack was given a hint to what he did, because he had no idea that August heard what he had said. Jack wanted to apologize to August but he would not listen . Then one day, the science teacher gave out who was partners for the science fair and Jack and August were paired up then Julian claimed that he and Jack wanted to be partners, but Jack said no. Julian wouldn't stop asking why and Julian said, "Why do you want to be partners with that freak?" That was when Jack punched Julian in the mouth and even knocked out a baby tooth, this caused a whole new conflict between Julian and Jack. Jack then was suspended for 2 days for what he did, and because of the holidays, all the children were out of school. He emailed August his apologies. Julian treated him like a nuisance. Then Julian asked him what was wrong with his face. After that, during school Julian made rude comments to August about his appearances . During the "War" August would find notes in his locker that said things like, "Freak!", "No Freaks at our School!" and other rude things. Jack would get notes too, so Jack and August put silly notes in Julian's locker, making the notes look like they were from a weird crazy girl who had a huge crush on Julian. This was the beginning of what was known as the "War". The whole 5th grade was either on Jack's side, Julian's side, or neutral. Almost all the boys were on Julian's side. On the other hand almost all the girls neutral. Julian then started leaving notes in Jack's locker and August's locker, so they fought back with silly little notes that were made to look like some creepy girl had a crazy crush on Julian. Soon after Julian was caught and was unable to go on the nature retreat trip.
