Dear Diary,

Today was an exciting day as I am ready to go on a trading journey in the Ghana Empire. As a trader, my days are filled with adventure, many people of culture, and the exchange of many goods. I woke up early, ready to begin my journey to the busy market. The sun was rising, so I rushed to join a group of fellow traders. We traveled on camels untill we reached the market. I was amazed; there was many cultures and goods from extraordinary places. I set up my stall and displayed my goods, which included salt and kola nuts. These goods were really valued in the empire and attracted many people. The king of Ghana played an important role in the trading activities. His authority and protection guaranteed a fair and secure environment for traders. His guards checked the markets, making sure that everyone followed the rules. The growth of the Ghana Empire has changed my life. The empire's growth has caused new trade routes, connecting diverse regions and cultures. This has improved the exchange of goods, ideas, and knowledge. As the sun sets, I packed up my stall, happy with the success of my trading. I returned to my camp, rethinking of the day's experiences and feeling grateful to be part of the trading network in the Ghana Empire.

Dear diary,
Today was an exciting day working as a trader in Ghana. There was a lot of people. They where all so different. We got ready and went with the trading process. We went in our groups as traders and traveled on camels to go and make agriculture. It was tiring but fun to experience. I saw many cultures, cultural goods and many different things. I learnt many ways to use trade and what its good for. We where stuck together so we couldn’t get lost. We landed on Ghana. It was so cool, and different. The agriculture was amazing to learn. We grew corn and you know that thing that makes cocoa powder… yeah we did that its called cocoa fruit. Agriculture is for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products. The Ghana empire provided trade routes and controlling the trans-Saharan gold trade. It was starting to get late and we had to go to our camps which was along walk. I started to dream about my day which was so fun and amazing and started wondering what I can do the next day.

Dear diary, today I woke up early in the morning ready to fill my schedule with adventurous experiences, I’m known as a trader so of course every day I join a group of trader and travel to different empires or countries today I decided to keep it simple and stay in Ghana and trade there and went with my group on caravans of camels. Me and my group stayed in Ghana and I started trading ideas, items, and salt with different other goods that are very valuable in the empire. I knew I was safe since the king of Ghana valued protection and authority. He made sure that everything was safe and no rules were broken, I then realized that Ghana began developing routes for more people with diverse backgrounds. Which people brought items from there land to share ideas and goods. After I was done I returned to my camp, and was amazed by the development of Ghana.

Dear Diary, as a trader in the empire's bustling streets, I encountered many different people and treasures. I traded kola nuts for salt bars with a Fulani and a Songhai offered salt for my woven baskets. The Mandinka weavers' silks whispered tales of the desert and the sun glinted on gold dust. The streets were full of whispers of distant lands and new voices, as traders like me carried them across the kingdom. Under the wise rule of the King, our empire's reach expanded with each journey, creating a vibrant tapestry as bold and beautiful as the savannah sky. May his wisdom forever weave us all together.

I saw people with horses and camels and I liked the culture the i really liked the trading there there culture was very nice it was the main ethnic group known was the Soninke. Ghana's economic development and eventual wealth was linked to the growth of regular and intensified trans-Saharan trade in gold, salt, and ivory. The king served as the commander in chief of a highly organized army, the controller of all trade activities, and the head administrator of justice The Ghana Empire grew rich from this trans-Saharan trade in gold, textiles, foods, and salt, allowing for larger urban centers to develop. The traffic furthermore. encouraged territorial expansion to gain control over the different trade routes. I was really tired that day because cause I had a lot of trading.

Retal Khan 7M

Dear Diary;

As I rode into the market full of goods with my camel, carrying baskets full of kola nuts, grains and salt as they were becoming more valuable in these regions! A sudden breeze hit me and I saw all of these different and unique traders that were in our area trading goods. I immediately began trading my resources for needs, but I desperately wanted a distant trader to exchange with me. Then upon me came an unexpected person who was from the outer areas, in our discussion I felt amazed and curious about her. She was different from the others, she was more cultural, and one of the unique local features that remained important was matrilineality she practiced in her region. After she left I was in complete shock, the kingdom growth on our daily lives has changed! An important aspect of my day was the role of our king, and how he developed our society. I’ve never seen this much cultures in Ghana before, and all of the goods I mentioned before were sold. Yes, I know kola, grains, and salt were valuable but after today I realized that they have more value than what they really are priced for! Ghana’s empire is one of the wealthiest empires globally, which may have been the reason why I didn’t practice trading goods often. I am so proud of my king, he expanded our region, relationships, and trading opportunities! These and future establishments will become the key for development in this society, with many more opportunities, our minds will be filled with curiosity and knowledge. Mostly about different cultures, goods, and trading techniques used in distant regions. The king’s role is to enhance our culture and knowledge and to spread our empire throughout the globe as we are the future. I carried my empty baskets but with different goods, and rode on my camel. I can’t imagine what tomorrow will be like! I’ve got a lot of questions on my mind like, “How many different individuals will we see, what are their cultures, what goods do they value, and what is their perspective.” Today has changed and I am deeply impressed with our king, I have to obey and gift him my work. Oh, tomorrow will always be a day away.

Today was a busy day in the trader’s market. I woke up at 5:00am and got ready to go trading. Of course I traveled with my camel all the way to the trading square. The minute I entered the marked i spotted a group of people from many cultures like Rome, Italy, and even Greece. The boss / the king was there to, he made sure everything was going smoothly and no fights over goods. I started meeting new people. I got invited to a party in Rome but I couldn’t go because I need to go see my kids. But my new friends and I talked a lot. Overall it was a busy day but I did make new friends!

Dear diary,

Today I woke up early, excited, as I am prepared to go out and trade in the Ghana empire. Being a trader, I see many people everyday from different places and it is very interesting to see what kind of goods they have and what I could trade back. I headed off to go to the market on a camel once I reached, I saw that it was very busy but I quickly started trading. It was kind of a chaos there, but I enjoy seeing many cultures, different items or ideas, and much more, and also since I went everyday I slowly watched more and more people appear to trade and the growth of the kingdom kept increasing since this was happening. I headed up to the first empty place I could find and set up my stall which had my goods which are, gold, obviously since we are known as the “Land of Gold”, ostrich feathers, salt, and a lot more goods. We gad mostly traded with people from India, China, Switzerland, and South Africa. The kind of Ghana was the controller of all trade activities, and the head administrator. His word was law. He made sure trades were fair. The kingdoms development has changed society in many ways such as, trade around here got spread to more and more people and the king got richer and military got stronger, so due to these reasons the kingdoms development changed society because we know now more about Ghana and the trades and lives. Once I finished, I got on my camel and headed back home wondering how tomorrow will be like.

Dear Diary,

Being a trader in the Ghana Empire today was exhilarating. As the sun rose above the crowded marketplace, I excitedly set up my stall, which was loaded with fabric, salt, and gold. I saw the variety of cultures present as I met other traders. It was a veritable mixing pot of cultures, from the Berbers who crossed the Sahara to the Arab traders bringing spices from distant regions. The king's advisors maintained a close watch, guaranteeing secure and equitable trade, demonstrating the king's influence. The expansion of the kingdom has improved our quality of life. Exotic items like silk and colors are now readily available to us, and our culture has grown increasingly dynamic and international. This was only a sneak peek. I can't wait for tomorrow's trading adventures.

Madhawi, 7L

I traveled with my caravan carrying gold, kola nuts, and ivory through trade routes that connect faraway places.

At the market in Koumbi Saleh, I exchanged our gold for fine textiles and salt with Berber traders. It amazed me how diverse the goods and people were – merchants from different regions brought things like glassware and salt.

Beyond the markets, I met a group from Al-Andalus who admired our kingdom's prosperity.

Retal Ibrahim 7k

Dear diary, today was another busy day in the Ghana empire. When the sun came up, I was determined to go on the journey of trade with ivory angels gold nuggets.

Upon arriving at the packed marketplace, I interacted with traders from various countries, each with their own languages and customs. Rich cultural exchanges were made possible by the Ghana Empire's advantageous location at the border of the Sahara and the forests. I traded salt, an expensive item in these dry regions, for our prized gold in trade with Berber merchants.

I saw the king's envoys supervising trade deals among the wide range of goods that were being exchanged. The king plays a crucial role in controlling trade because it creates stability and a favorable atmosphere for traders to thrive in. The king makes wise choices that impact trade policies and strengthen the kingdom's economy.

There is no denying the influence of trade on the kingdom's expansion. The enormous advancements in infrastructure that have been made possible by the wealth that has come from our gold mines. Magnificent buildings, such as palaces and mosques, are evidence of the prosperity brought about by trade. The visionary leader, the king, uses these resources to improve the quality of life for our people.

The market settles as the day draws to a close, and I consider how trade and the social advancement of the Ghana Empire are mutually reinforcing. The valuables traded in the marketplace are more than just products; they are the strands connecting a flourishing society. New experiences that will further enhance the legacy of our magnificent kingdom are anticipated for tomorrow.

Hiba Almomen 7N

Dear diary,

I would consider today as a successful day as a trader. I made good trades and sales. I personally sell gold. I am very happy and grateful for my job. It is one of the current best jobs for workers, and has been for a long while. My target audience are mostly Arabs and North Africans, and it has been a very stable one for many generations. Europeans do buy gold, just not as much as Arabs and North Africans.

I met many people at the marketplace, some being traders, others being customers from all around the world. I got to meet a person I will probably always remember. He was from North Africa, Algeria specifically. He told me all about his religion, Islam. He told me that one of his main goals in life is to spread Islam, and that Ghana had been one of the earlier places that he arrived to. I was very excited to continue listening to him and his story. In the end, I was very intrigued and decided to learn more about Islam during my free time, and with the help of Muslims in my area.

Recently, Ghana has grown as a kingdom. I am very proud of our kingdom for all the advancements and achievements that we have achieved in the past couple of years. I think the quality of life of the majority of Ghanaian citizens has significantly increased, and we are very grateful for that. We love our king and think he does a great job at keeping our kingdom happy and stabilized. He does a much better job than the past king, his father.

In conclusion, today was a successful and good day. I am ready to go to bed after my dinner with my wife and son.

                                                                                          Goodbye for now
