The CR helps the viewer, your audience, understand your exhibition as a coherent collection of resolved artworks that clearly communicates your intended thoughts and ideas. First, explain your thought process, the big picture. What are you trying to communicate? What ideas have you explored and expressed here? How are your thoughts connected to each other and and how are they linked in your work (By theme? By style?) What did you experience that made your work possible? The second paragraph can be a general discussion of the works in the show, or you may discuss each piece individually, making connections among them. Maybe there is a particular piece that is pivotal to the rest of the show and you discuss this one in relation to the others. What materials and techniques have you used and why did you choose these? Do the materials have an impact on the meaning of the work? Justify choosing these works, specifically for this exhibition? The third part of the CR can address your intentions for your audience. What do you want your viewers to experience, think, feel, understand, consider? What did you decide to do in order to get and keep your audience engaged? Be HONEST when writing about your work. Stick to the facts, avoiding descriptors that express only opinion, for example: cool, gorgeous, amazing, clearly, intelligently. Ask someone to check your grammar and spelling.
