I have checked the learning space in Go-Lab, "Global Climate Change- A Overview of Core Ice" for my pupils, who are 8 year olds, does not fit well ... But the Learning Phases:

are the ones I normally use to develop scientific thinking and enhance my ability to reason. Very beautiful

This year Im not teaching anything related to cyclones. Furthermore I personally found it a bit hard to understand and folllow. Having said that I did enjoy trying it out because it is an area in which I feel I have a lot to learn about. The graphics were useful and so were the exercises.

My six-year-old students
I can present these images and talk to them about the association of colors with temperatures, about the connection between the real images and those taken over by the satellite.
Students can understand that cyclone is a natural phenomenon, and scientist are studying it to help people protect life, nature and infrastructure.

It is quite difficult to explain these phenomena to students of 6-8 years, maybe using the game can be understood, but I think the quest is the key to suceces. They can color can draw and watch movies can perceive new notions.

The Cyclone Centre Citizen Science project is quite interesting and I'll probably use it with my students of the 8th grade. I think that is very important that Scientists and Volunteers Team Up to Solve Storms. The students can feel that they make a difference and can help scientists with their work.

I've found this tool very interesting and impressive but it wouldn't match very well with my subject and my curriculum. To be honest, I prefer to spend the few hours of my course discussing more specifically about chemical properties directly related with climate changes. Anyway I think that the tool about "Ice core overview" would be perfect for my students.

I like it. It's useful and easy.

I'm afraid this would be a bit too difficult for my Middle School students, tho some of them might have no problems at all as far as language is concerned. I could downgrade some expressions and lexis. This would work fine.

What I find extremely udeful here is the personal quiz / poll mode wherevstudents reflect on facts and give personal answers.

Although a Cyclone is not a frequent phenomenon in Greece, the presence and influence of many such extreme severe weather phenomena in Usa and not only can motivate students to learn more about all these and with the contribution of this course ,we have plenty of resources in our hands .Might could be a good idea to present it as a part of geography subject to the last 5th and 6th grades of primary .

I really like this resource.

In Greece we are not familiar with cyclons even though cyclon is a Greek word. However, I believe that I could use only some of the mentioned parts to my lessons because my students are young (aage 6-7 years old) and have very little knowledge of greek (none of English).

It is not an easy to use ICT tool by primary school students. I guess it might be interesting to use it in order to explain that the form and the change of a cyclone help the climatologists to predict future storm behavior and this gives us the time we need to reach to a safe place.

My students are generally unaware about cyclones, because in Italy we haven't these strong natural events. But they are really impressed by the disastrous effects of cyclons in tropical countries. This project could be very interesting to understand better (and in an active way) how and why tropical cyclones form.

It's a great tool to learn to "read" images students see in the news and a great way to transfer information from image to text. Students can interprete images and understand the force of different cyclones on the news. Then they can look at the disasters caused and understand them better. They canbe asked to predict before they are given the actual consequences on human life and resources from the news. This can give them a sense of proportion of disaster caused by climate change, since these phenomena are on the increase

The app would be a very useful teaching tool at the moment here in Ireland. We just experienced a very bad storm which caused a lot of damage around the country. schools were even closed for two days. Students could use the app to learn more about the movement and structure of such storms

I enjoyed trying the Cyclone Center Citizen Science project but will have to learn a bit more to be able to use it with my students. Maybe I can introduce it when we teach global environmental changes. The Leo Network is also interesting and will explore it more. About the lesson proposed, maybe I'm doing something wrong but I could not open it. It says it does not exists anymore.

Really interesting teaching material for physics or geography tool! Students can experiment with it, try to interpretate photos and learn about cyclones. Easy to use in an enviromental project, link cyclones with disasters in peoples' lives, although I am not sure that cyclone material could engage my students efficiently in climate change in Greece.
