Today the wonderopilis question stated that some lakes are pink.From this statment forward I look through out further information.One piece of evidence was how these lakes are more on the east side of the world. Surprisingly they all are salt lakes.The color apeeres as a strawberry milkshake kind of pink.It also isent a reflection. Scientists believe that the high salinty of these lakes helps to explain their unique coloring.For example, in many pink lakes, the only type of microbe that can survive and thrive is a particular type of halophile micro-algae known as Dunaliella salina.With enough light and heat and a salinty level well above that of sea water, these microbes produce and carotenoids, such as beta carotene. The color of these carotenoids gives these algae and the water they populate their pink color.Now you know what I learned today,how it works, and why it works.

According to the question,"Why are some lakes pink?",
I learned that the reason this is is because of this salt.Based on what I know,the salt lake in Utah,Half of it is pink!The pink in the lake is known to be a micro alge called Dunaliella salina. With the sunlight and the water the alge will grow and grow,duplacating it's self so the lake is pink.
