         <description><![CDATA[<div>The founders probably limited that right to white men with land because African Americans were seen as uneducated and poor, which was mostly true through no fault of the black people. Also they wanted only landowners to vote because people without land weren't effected by the laws as much.-Travis <br>I think it wasn't their intention to limit the rights of blacks however they didn't entirely care enough to change it then not really. -Annabell<br>I don't think they did limit it since based off of Thomas Jefferson's quote "the rights of suffrage to all who had a permanent intention of living in the country" it would show that he included all citizens and didn't give a specific regulations. However it is implied that property owners, those with family, or have lived there for an extended period of time were the targeted and at that time it was easier for white males to accomplish all of those over others. -Annabell<br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
