Other teachers implement many projects, assignments, and tests that I create that align to both their standards and the US history standards. Many of the other social studies teachers at my school don’t have a background in social studies and aren’t as aware of the techniques that work well in a history class. I’ve included an image of one of our testing resources that breaks down the questions by standards so that I can see what students are learning and which standards they are still struggling with. Many of the older teachers at my school use one or two questions to check for understanding but that doesn’t indicate much. Each standard should have at least five questions and they should be varying degrees of difficulty to get a true understanding.
