         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Internal Consistency: </strong>based on the average correlation among items within a test or scale<br><strong>Split-half method:</strong> when one divides the questions into two halves and each half is a separate test- the total scores of these two half-tests for each participant are correlated together (can be split by odd or even numbered questions)<br><strong>Test-retest reliability: </strong>the extent to which the same persons consistently respond to the same test given on different occasions <br><strong>Alternate forms reliability: </strong>design two versions of the test that are similar in nature<br><br><strong>VALIDITY:</strong><br><strong>Face validity:</strong> appearance of the measure itself and its test items<br><strong>Content validity: </strong>how well a test measures particular characteristics or variables- can determine how well an individual has mastered a skill<br><strong>Criterion-related validity</strong>- comparing scores on the test to scores on a selected criterion (academic achievement and achievement scores on tests)<br><strong>Predictive criterion-related validity: </strong>test is administered first and then the scores on the criterion measure are collected on the sample at a later time <br><strong>concurrent criterion-related validity:</strong> scores on the test and criterion measure are collected at the same time</div>]]></description>
