Ellen is feeling Sad, Depressed , Scared.

Ellen is sad because she had to separate from her family and hide in AnneMarie's house because they didn't want Ellen to go away. Ellen is also Depressed because she doesn't know if her family got taken away or are dead. Ellen is scared because she never knows if the Nazis soldiers comes in and takes her away because they found out that she isn't their actual daughter

I think Yanek is Scared,Sad, and brave I think he's scared because the Germans are coming and killing every single Jew they find and are treating them very badly making them work and work all day. I think he's sad because his parents and most of his family got taken away and he has no idea what the Germans are planning to do with them. I think he's brave because even though everything that's going on he's still staying strong and working hard at his job no matter how much it hurts.

Anna. her 3 emotions so far are feeling confused, rushed, and sad but knows its for the good. She feels confused because it was just 1 day to figure out her dad has gone to Switzerland but she has no idea why. so shes stuck on the train, wondering millions of why shes on the train and what her dad is doing in Switzerland. She feels rushed because it happened all so quickly. she found out that her dad was in Switzerland one day, and then the next shes packing her stuff and saying bye to her teachers, friends, and the literal couch. Shes sad, because she has to leave her friends, her childhood home, and her stuffed animal since she could only pick one. She at least isn't crying about it because she knows its for the good. she knows her dad wouldn't go anywhere without telling anyone.

Three emotions to describe Yanek is sad,mad and Brave. Yanek is Sad because his parents have gotten taken away by the Nazi's. Also yanek is mad because he has to go through all of these things like his parents getting taken away,because They have to stay hidden away from the Nazi's,And because they are basically trapped in their hiding spots.Lastly Yanek is Brave because after all this he is still pushing through the pain like how in the book it says "I wanted to scream. I almost ran to the column of marching Jews to call my parents name, to find out if that was really them. But the sight of the German SS officers bringing up the rear stopped me.If my parents weren't being marched right now, I'd be caught and never seen again". showing how he kept his cool and stuck his ground in wanting to save and see his parents.
