  • Explain the importance of women's history month and the achievements 

  • Pass out Sudha Chandran, Dancer and Activist Article 

  • Go over vocab words and place them on the anchor chart

  •  Say we will look out for these words as we read to have students stay engaged with the text

  • Read the article and as a vocab word pops up students will raise their hands and we will use context clues to determine the meaning of the words 

  • Lastly after reading we will complete a flow chart describing the order of events and discuss what we infer may happen next 

  • Students will be released to work on their own informational text and have a vocab sheet they will fill out as they read inferring the meaning

  • Students can microphone read to practice saying words and will be encouraged to write words they do not know the meaning to

  • Teacher will walk around and check understanding

  • Students will work on completing flow chart after reading the text 

  • We will come back and talk about meaning of vocab words ( Time limited /checked)

  • Create a group inference of what happens next using these frames
