La educación artística en las escuelas ayuda a los niños y niñas a conocerse mejor a ellos mismos, expresar su mundo interior y plasmar su imaginación y creatividad.

La formación artística contribuye al desarrollo integral de los niños, jóvenes y adultos; enriquece el desarrollo cognitivo y desarrolla habilidades y destrezas como la creatividad y la curiosidad.  

La actividad artística del educando despierta su fantasía y su poder imaginativo; conduce a la valoración del color y de las formas, así como la formación de la personalidad, la confianza en sí mismo, el respeto y la tolerancia 


La educación artística es necesaria, porque les permite adquirir una serie de competencias y rutinas mentales que están en armonía con la naturaleza del ser humano y que, a su vez, son imprescindibles para el aprendizaje de cualquier asignatura escolar.
