         <description><![CDATA[<div>We've added additional elementary enrichment teams in the last three years and enrollment numbers seem to be holding in elementary as well as visual art (K-12), Music performances in-person have been taking place again (finally), We have a caring and compassionate arts education team that wants to help grow every child in their artistic field of expertise!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>People think that art, music, theater, and dance are just "extras" and anyone can teach these subjects.  I see advocacy as a tool to dispel this myth by being proactive rather than reactive.  (Sorry this is actually two but I also don't think people understand the amount of personal - beyond the classroom - time that arts educators devote to their students for little or no compensation.)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We definitely want to increase enrollment numbers in band/choir at the secondary level post-pandemic (critical) in order to avoid program demise and I hope we can continue to work on ensuring that students are receiving the same opportunity and support to be successful in the arts no matter their school or feeder pattern.  One way to achieve this is ensuring we have common and consistent student skills as well as curriculum/pacing understanding across all levels.</div>]]></description>

Music education advocacy is a journey with a variety people to uplift music education for all people. This can look like policy at the state and federal level. It can look like have parents attending performances at the school level. It looks like students taking the initiative to create their own music outside of the classroom and school setting.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Within ESSA, is a <strong><em>flexible</em></strong> grant entitled Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant, also known as Title IV, Part A. SSAE (Title IV, Part A) is authorized at $1.65 billion, but is currently funded at $1.1 Billion. These funds are available to all NC school districts based on a formula allotment</div><div><br>Any school district receiving more than $30,000 <strong>must </strong>complete a needs assessment that address expenditure of</div><div>•20% on safe and healthy school activities,&nbsp;</div><div>•20% on well-rounded education programs. The remaining&nbsp;</div><div>•60% of the allotted funding can be spent on all three buckets, with a 15% cap on technology devices, equipment, and software and digital content.&nbsp;</div><div><br>&gt;$30,000: Needs Assessment requires input from various stakeholders including (but not limited to): Principals (all levels) School Counselors, Lead Teachers, Classroom Teachers, Enrichment/Fine Arts Teachers, AIG, Parents, Students Faith Based Community Members &nbsp;</div><div>&lt;$30,000: The school district <strong>must </strong>spend the funds in one of the “buckets” with the 15% cap on technology&nbsp;</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
