Technology helps us in many ways but it also have its dark side.. We think that being able to connect with other people from the internet makes us less lonely but it is the direct opposite. With us being too focused on connecting with people online our commutation skills are also affected.. "I'd rather text than talk". We are used to communicating with the help of technology that we are no longer interested in communicating to other people face to face in real time with the fear of making a mistake when speaking unable to edit out or delete what we have just said.. This makes us an awkward person to converse with face to face.

We spend too much time on technology that we forget our social life— the real world. For example, we are supposed to have a hang out with our friends but we opt to enter a portal to another world, which happened to be our phones. This affects our social life for it makes us more distant to people that we used to be close with. It is our fault in the first place, that is why it is only normal to suffer from the consequence. Too much time spent on the virtual world made us feel lonely. Even if we try to seek comfort from other people, we find ourselves having no one to turn to for we have turned our backs on each other since we abused technology.

It is funny to think that we can rekindle our lost relationship with technology when it was the reason why we lost it. We abused technology that it made us not only alone but isolated as well. Our social life has deteriorated. Even with the help of technology, those "sociable robots", they will not suffice the warmth and comfort a real person can give. Taken from the talk, "they can't emphasize because they don't have any idea or experience to what's its like to live as a human.”

We must not let ourselves get addicted to gadgets. Let’s not forget about our social life in our real world. Yes, it is enchanting to to live in the virtual world our gadgets offer us but the real world has more to offer, better options I must say. In real world, we learn new and different things by experiencing and witnessing it: that is the greatest gift the real world has given us which the options from the virtual world cannot compare to.
