In my classes I generally use non authentic materials and tasks but alse, I use authentic materials according to my students needs and interests. Some of my students level is suitable for authentic materials, so I can use authentic materials, There are some students who don't think English as a lesson, they see it a culture, a must, so I try to use authentic materials in order to prepare them to the social life . That is, ı want to close the language gap between classroom knowledge and real life. I prefer using a combination of these two materials.

In my poin of view, using authentic materials is not always easy in my classrooms. Because of the fact that my students level is low and ıf I always use them they get confused and demotivated. Especially if the language is complex. So, I must be very careful about selecting the most suitable material in order to capture their attention and interest. So the preparation step is very demanding for me, so I usually choose non authentic materials for my students.

Today we have focused on teaching grammar in an explicitly and implicitly way. I generally use the mixture of these two ways. In my local area , I think the teachers generally use the explicit way of teaching grammar. Because it is much easier and not time consuming. But by some interactive activities we can make our classrooms more effective and innovative.

By the way, I have learned asking CCO questions while teaching grammar in order to make clear grammar structures. So in my local area the teacher may find this interesting and useful. To sum up, Concept checking questions are vital in teaching grammar. And also in my classrooms I generally use guided and controlled grammar activities, rarely free activities. Because of the fact that my students level is not high.
Another point I will make use of is at pronounciation parts ;using drills as an enjoyable activity, My colleagues can also make use of it.
As I have written in the first paragraph, In my PDC's,I am going to concentrate on teaching grammar explicitly or implicitly. Most of my colleagues are going to say the first one is used in their lessons. And also I am going to share some activities that they can use in their classrooms. For example; chain drills. The other point is; while focusing on grammar topics, it is important to ask CCO.

To start with, today I have learned some different applications which I can use in my classrooms. For example; cram, gamestolearnenglish, flippity, worksheets.the teacherscorner etc. They are all useful and enjoyable way of teaching vocabulary.Because in our era students are very into technology, so making lessons more attractive for them will be possible by using these kinds of applications and websites.
Besides, we focused on tips for teaching vocabulary, some of which I do right, some of which I don't . So in my classroom , I will take these tips in to account.
In my language preparation classrooms I strongly advice my students to keep a vocabulary notebook. I ask them to write collecations, synonyms and antonmys of the words, and also write the english desciriptions of the words they have learned, by this way they can learn other meanings or usage of the word.

In my point of view the most important point in reading activities is being able to catch students attention, however most of the reading passages in coursebooks dont attract students attention. So pre-reading activities are very vital. If I can be able to take students attention to the subject the other steps are not difficult. Here I am going to try to make a plan for my reading classes...

In my point of view process writing is useful. Without being worried about grammar mistakes they can write freely for writing tasks. Not only they can draft and redraft their writing, but they can also correct theirs' and their friends' writings.( peer correction and self correction).
In writing process these steps are very important ideas, mind map, and drafts( 1 st, 2nd and 3rd). And also correcting every error isnt a good idea. Just the major mistakes should be corrected. otherwise writing process can be boring and undesirabe for students.
And also I have learned some useful applications and web sites which I can make use of in my writing lessons. Some of them are zohowriter, padlet, live Journey, jamboard, mentimeter/ wordwall etc.

We should keep in mind that while making assessment we shoul alll the time reinforce their knowledge, ıt is a recyle.
The biggest and most common problem related to assessment in my local area is that they generally prepare formative assessments. We give grade students through exams. We rarely use summotive assessment types. Because most of the teachers and students see English as a lesson not a must or a culture.
Peer or self assessment couldnt solve some local problems in my local area, but at least we can try to make them get accustomed to this type of asssessment, when they understand the importance of gaining a second language they will need peer or self assessment types. The other problems are some students find it time consuming, they may not be fair, some students find it unenjoyable or difficult for some of them
In order to solve this problem we can start with minor evaluations, encourage them, support their development, give clear and simple instructions.that is, we can start with small peer and self assessment types. When they see their progress they will like making comments or grading their peer or themselves

ı think the greatest benefit of being in a Professional development Community for teachers of English in my local area is that We will share our problems we face in our classes, we will come together and express ourselves, implement new approaches we have learned, try to create classrooms in which students feel confortable speaking English and are actively involved in the learning process. Shortly we are going to be a part of the solution.
