I enjoyed Reading this article as it highlighted the importance of School Counselors. This article explained the importance of school counselors in High School. In High School students begin to make decisions on colleges and career choices. With College decisions comes applications, applying for financial aid, and admission preparation. The college going process is complicated for many students, even college ready ones (Cabera& La Nasa,2000). Many students have parents to assist but not all. School Counselors are available to help students who don’t have assistance with the process. The article covered the importance of student-counselor contact and how students are positively impacted when it comes to making decisions or completing needed tasks for college. To prepare for college, School Counselors coordinate college and Career readiness activities throughout the school year.
