"Connected but alone", last time we were tasked to watch this video which was being elaborated by Sherry Turkle. This video is about how technology tends to control us more than us controlling it. And somehow while watching the video, it brought me back to when i was a kid. I can still remember how happy and active i was playing games together with my childhood friends. Those were the fun days until technology came, slowly everything became modernized. The streets where we used to play, that used to be filled with laughter of children became lonely. And even I, without noticing it also became lonely. Gone was the happy and active me

We cannot also deny the fact that many social media helps us in many ways, but somehow it also disadvantages us and the most affected here is our verbal communication to other people, specially our loved ones like our family and friends. We tend to seek comfort on these phones that we forget how to actually communicate with others, how to deal with others and how to listen. We thought that these devices can empathize with us but in reality they cannot. It only made us distant to the real world, to real conversations and real people. In this generation many are suffering from depression and anxiety that usually ends up to suicide because no one was listening like what Sherry Turkle mentioned. That with technology we are slowly forgetting how to listen. We are slowly getting eaten by these devices. The title made me realize that we have a lot of friends in social media and yes they follow us, likes us but they dont understand us.You do not fully understand a person using these devices. The answer to this problem is we have to know ourselves better and by the time that we know ourselves better we can communicate with others better.
