We follow her in all her adventures. This allows us to see another perception of her emotions. When I read the book, I feel like I can relate to Tally. Tally is brave and she is capable of anything. She is even considered a hero. She saved millions of people that were going to do the surgery and to have their brains damaged. She plays the role of the villain. As we know, Dr.Cable was the one who stopped Tally from getting the surgery (technically she did not stop her, but she gave her a mission and Tally had to do it or else she wouldn't have the operation.) When Shay decided to left Uglyville to go the Smoke Tally debating with herself to decided if she follows her friends or if she says here to get the surgery. Finally, she decided that what was the more important things for her was her face. She choses herself instead of choosing her friendship with Shay. «"Look, Skinny, I'm with you," Tally said sharply. "Doing tricks is great! Okay? Breaking the rules is fin! But eventually you've got to do something besides being a clever little ugly". The second conflict is when Tally was debating with herself if she was going to activated the pendant.« She felt the pendant swinging from her neck, a tiny but insistent pull. Dr. Cable would be impatient by now, waiting for the signal. The Special Circumstance wants to have the control on everything. They want to maintain control on the city because they are hiding the truth about the operation. I thought that is was a different theme from the other book we readed. The theme of pursuing our dreams and our value is very original.« She opened her hand and threw the necklace into the center of the fire.» That shows the importance that Tally gives to her values. The negative point that I spotted in the book was the fact that I thought that is was to long to read. I put hours to read that book. I think that for the time we had to read this book, the book was to long.
