• The volunteer activity was a Barangay Clean-Up Drive that aimed to improve the cleanliness and environment of the community. Our church youth ministry organized a Children’s Ministry Outreach and Feeding Program for kids in a nearby community. We shared Bible stories, played games, sang songs, and served food for everyone. Some materials like coloring sets and pencils were not enough because more children arrived than we expected, so they had to share with one another. The place also had no covered area, and it suddenly rained hard, so we had to end the activity earlier than expected. We weren’t able to finish all the games and lessons because of the weather. Next time, we plan to prepare more materials and find a better location with shelter in case it rains again. Even with those challenges, the experience was still worth it because everyone went home with full hearts and smiling faces.

The volunteer activity I chose was the earthquake relief initiative led by Miss Universe Philippines 2022, Celeste Cortesi, through her lip-care brand ASUL. Through her brand, Celeste donated ₱5,000,000 in partnership with the Angat Buhay NGO Foundation to help victims of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu on September 30, 2025. The donation was used to provide food, hygiene kits, clean water, tents, and medical aid for affected communities. The main goal of this activity was to provide immediate assistance and restore hope to families who lost their homes and livelihood. This initiative also highlighted how public figures and brands can use their platforms to promote compassion and community resilience.

Two aspects that made this volunteer work effective were collaboration and compassion. The partnership between Celeste’s brand ASUL and the Angat Buhay NGO Foundation allowed fast coordination with local responders in Cebu. Their transparency and consistent updates on social media inspired other people to contribute and support relief efforts. It also showed how businesses can become a force for good when they prioritize humanitarian causes. Overall, the teamwork and sincerity behind this project made it both successful and meaningful.

Although the initiative was impactful, there were areas that could be improved. One challenge was reaching remote communities that were heavily damaged, which slowed down aid delivery. Better coordination with local volunteers or barangay units could help distribute relief faster next time. Despite these minor issues, the campaign still stood out as an inspiring example of social responsibility and kindness.

- I've heared about the coastal clean-up drive is a volunteer activity where people come together to clean trash and waste along beaches or coastal areas. During this event, volunteers collect plastic bottles, wrappers, and other garbage that harm the ocean and sea animals. This volunteer activity was joined by many people from the community. It is usually joined by students, teachers, local government workers, and community members. The main goal of the activity was to protect marine life, keep the environment clean, and teach people not to throw waste in the ocean. It also helped raise awareness about the importance of taking care of nature. After the cleanup, the volunteers felt proud and happy to help their community and the planet.

- Two things that worked well during the coastal clean-up drive were teamwork and community participation. Everyone worked together and helped one another, which made the cleaning faster and easier. Also, there was no follow-up activity to make sure the place stayed clean after the event. United Foursquare Youth involves young people from Foursquare churches, including students and young adults, guided by youth leaders, pastors, and church volunteers. During fellowship , only a few active members consistently showed up, while others were hesitant or shy to join.Even in planning the activity or program some leader couldn’t attend the meetings or events due to school matters or personal reasons.

Back in senior high, I joined a cleanup drive in our school. We went around the campus picking up trash and segregating them into biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclables. A lot of students joined even some teachers helped out. The main goal was to keep the school clean and also to teach us how to take care of our environment. It was a simple activity, but it made me realize how teamwork can make a big difference.

What worked really well was how everyone cooperated and helped willingly. We all helped each other and the tasks were divided, some picked up trash while others are assigned to segregation. The teachers also guided us so everything went smoothly. I liked how the activity wasn’t just about cleaning, but also about building discipline and awareness. It actually felt nice seeing the school look cleaner after all we did.

But of course, there were a few things that could’ve been better. Some of us didn’t have gloves or masks, so it was kinda uncomfortable handling some of the trash especially the smell. There also wasn’t any short talk or orientation before the cleanup so we just started right away without much guidance. I think next time it would be better if they provided more cleaning tools and explained more about waste segregation and its importance. That would make the activity even more meaningful, but overall it

was ok.

As the Vice Chairperson of the initiative, I have personally observed and participated in the volunteer activity “Project ALAYON” of DNSC — an initiative under the supervision of the DNSC student body called the Federal Student Government (FSG). Project Alayon is anchored on Student Government Act 003 and functions as a donation drive organized by students during calamities and emergencies. It also extends assistance to students through a lost and found system. The initiative aims to foster unity within the academic community while ensuring transparency and accountability in all its activities. The term “Alayon” embodies the Bisaya spirit of bayanihan, symbolizing the collective effort of DNSC students and staff to extend support in times of need. Those involved include student leaders from the Federal Student Government, with the help of leaders from Local Student Governments and various program-based organizations.

The donation drive and the participation of the students worked very well. As Vice Chairperson, I witnessed how efficiently we gathered funds for people affected by different calamities. The success of the initiative was mainly due to proper communication and effective dissemination of information. This allowed students to fully understand the situation of those in need, which motivated them to extend help willingly. Additionally, the adherence of volunteers to Project Alayon’s established protocols ensured that our service was organized, transparent, and meaningful.

One challenge we encountered was the remittance of the collected funds. The process was delayed because the city suspended classes for almost two weeks, which affected the timely transfer of donations to the affected areas. Another concern was the miscommunication among some leaders who were not able to fully absorb or relay the announcements and information properly, causing minor confusion and delays in coordination. To improve this, I suggest allowing electronic transactions to ensure faster and more convenient processing of funds. However, the use of cold cash remains necessary for the signatories and for issuing acknowledgment receipts to the participants.

Way back, when I was Grade 11 and a Grade 12 student of Panabo City Senior High School. I used to volunteer on one volunteer initiative in our school. This initiative called, Luntiang Pamana.

It involved PCSHS students/alumni, teachers spearheaded by Ms. Alejandra C. Endrina in collaboration of NGOs, and LGU of Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

According to Ma’am Endrina, " Luntiang Pamana Project aims to join organizations that seek to combat climate change." By tapping into the hearts of the youth through volunteerism, providing education and knowledge for a wider and deeper understanding, it will strengthen the culture of cooperation and connection with more opportunities to help the environment.

This volunteer initiative aligns with Graduation Legacy for the Environment Act of 2019." This law aims for students to plant at least 10 trees before they graduate, to educate and empower young individuals. It is also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) specifically SDG #13 Climate Action, targeting environmental sustainability.

I observed that it has a legal framework, specifically Senate Bill No. 668, introduced by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr., also known as the "Graduation Legacy for the Environment Act of 2019," which requires all graduating elementary, high school, and college students to plant at least ten (10) trees each as a prerequisite for graduation and for other related purposes. This bill provides a clear purpose for this initiative. Moreover, it also has an international framework of UN SDGs targeting nature, ecosystems, and biodiversity, as well as SMART CHOICES, which increased the project's significance in attainaing sustainability globally.

Second, there was collaboration among diverse stakeholders such as NGOs, LGU, teachers, and, of course, students of Panabo City Senior High School. I remember one time when we planted Mangrove trees in Little Panay, we coordinated with the LGU of Panabo for the seeds that we would be planting, and requested a service to transport us to the planting area.

I think this initiative could have improved on long-term follow-up regarding the mangrove survival rates. When we planted trees, Ma'am Endrina told us to schedule some follow-ups for the mangroves we planted, but it didn't happen. Maybe in this way, the planning and follow-up could be improved in a way that there will be an assigned team for this initiative to establish monitoring schedule, forms or other means to monitor and follow up the outcome, so we can ensure that what we planted really grows and if we will need to plant again. In addition, enhancing communication through online platforms in terms of involving more community members such as other volunteer organizations here in Panabo City and securing additional resources for future purposes would expand the project's impact. This proposed measures could also foster a sense of shared responsibility and collective action towards environmental conservation within the Panabo City community.

When I was in Senior High School (specifically Grade 12), I was part of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG). One of our main projects was called “Oplan Backpack Heroes 4.0.” In this project, we collected school supply donations from students in our school, while the SK officers (Sangguniang Kabataan) helped by providing food for the students and parents who were present during the activity. The donations were given to the learners of Mabunao Elementary School in Panabo City, who were struggling because of a lack of school materials. The goal of the project was to help provide school supplies and support the education of less fortunate students. It was a meaningful experience that encouraged kindness and community involvement among the youth.

The activity was very successful because of the teamwork and cooperation among the SSLG officers and the students who participated. Everyone did their part willingly, which made the project smooth and organized. Another thing that worked well was the active support from the SK officers, who provided food and helped make the event more engaging for the community. The donors were also very generous, which allowed us to collect enough supplies for all the recipients. Overall, the project created a positive atmosphere and gave everyone a sense of fulfillment after seeing the smiles of the students who received the donations.

There were no major problems during the project since it was well-organized and successfully completed. However, one thing that could be improved is continuity—it would be nice if this kind of outreach program could be done twice a year to reach more schools in need. Another improvement could be stronger documentation or feedback gathering, so that we can learn from each activity and make future ones even better. By being consistent and reflective, projects like this can have a lasting impact on both volunteers and the beneficiaries.

1. When I was still in senior high school, I joined a clean-up drive activity held in New Visayas. It involved students from PCSHS, especially members of the Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. It was a meaningful experience that showed how teamwork can make a big difference in caring for our environment.

2. What worked well during the clean-up drive was how everyone cooperated and supported one another. We divided tasks, cleaned different areas, and made sure no spot was left unattended. I appreciated how everyone stayed focused and willing to help, even when it got tiring. Our teamwork made the activity faster, lighter, and more enjoyable. - The volunteer activity I joined was a Purok Clean-Up Drive. It involved the Barangay Kagawads in Barangay Canocotan, Purok Leaders, and also the youth in our community. We all worked together to clean our surroundings by sweeping, collecting garbage, and removing plastics around the area. The goal of this activity was to make our environment more clean and safe for everyone living in every purok. It also helped raise awareness about the importance of keeping our surroundings free from waste. Through this clean-up drive, I learned how teamwork can make big tasks easier. It felt good to see the area become clean after our hard work.

2. What worked well?

- Two aspects that made the volunteer work more effective were teamwork and coordination. First, teamwork among all the volunteers worked really well because everyone helped one another and shared responsibilities to complete the cleaning tasks properly. Everyone was motivated, and the leaders also gave clear instructions while the materials like brooms, sacks, and gloves were ready beforehand. Second, there was good coordination among the Barangay Kagawads, Purok Leaders, and youth, which helped the activity run smoothly. As a result of these efforts, the area became more clean and organized, showing how cooperation and unity can make a community project and activity successful.

- Even though the activity was successful, there were still a few things that could be improved. Some volunteers especially the youth arrived late, which caused a small delay before we started. We could also plan better by assigning groups to different areas to work more efficiently. Despite those issues, everyone still cooperated and finished the task. Next time, with better planning and preparation, the activity can be even more organized and more effective.

The community tree planting initiative organized by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in the Municipality of Asuncion, Davao del Norte, is one volunteer activity I observed. Along open areas and riverbanks, the students, youth volunteers, and barangay officials took an active part in planting native trees like narra and mahogany. The activity's goals is to prevent flooding and soil erosion, help in environmental restoration, and increase public knowledge of the value of reforestation. It also aims to support the Department of Environment and Natural Resources' (DENR) National Greening Program (NGP) and raise awareness of environmental issues.

The activity encourages local communities to take action for environmental protection. This demonstrated cooperation and a common dedication to sustainability.

From what I observed, the tree planting activity was successful because of the good coordination among volunteers and with the guidance from organizers. Each group had assigned areas, which made the process organized and efficient. The support from the local government-such as providing seedlings, gloves, and refreshments-helped motivate participants. Another thing that worked well was the Bayanihan spirit that everyone showed, helping each other even under the sun. The excitement of the volunteers fostered a supportive environment that promoted commitment and teamwork. This showed that when people cooperate, environmental projects become more meaningful and impactful.

However, there is issues I've noticed, one of this issue was the lack of proper follow-up after the tree planting. Some of the seedlings did not survive because they were not watered regularly or protected from animals. Another issue was that different planting techniques were employed since different volunteers did not receive the same instructions. To make it better, the organizers should make sure that everyone shows up for the orientation and provide more detailed instructions in advance. Assigning a monitoring teamto keep an eye on the trees and care for the planted area would also be beneficial. Future initiatives would be more sustainable and well-organized with these adjustments.

- During the huge flooding in Tuganay, Davao del Norte, many households were devastated and struggled to obtain basic supplies. As member of our school’s student leader organization, I participated in a relief drive that me and my fellow leaders arranged to aid a specific area in need. We able tp received brief voluntary donations from fellow students and teachers, including both goods and funds. We were also able to obtain financial assistance from private individuals and groups, allowing us to purchase extra relief supplies and water tanks as requested by the people there. Our staff worked with the municipal response team to guarantee a smooth and safe operation. The activity's purpose was to provide immediate aid to the flood-affected neighborhood while also showing camaraderie.

- One of the main challenges we faced was the delay and limited source of funds at the start of the relief drive, which slightly slowed down our preparation. In addition, there were too many students who wanted to volunteer firsthand, which caused some confusion in organizing roles and assignments. -We back 2023 I've joined one volunteer activity it was a school-based environmental protection program that focused on tree planting and clean-up drives around the school and nearby community in DNHS. Students, and teachers joined the activity to help make the environment cleaner and greener. The main goal was to promote environmental awareness and encourage everyone to take part in caring for nature. We planted seedlings around the school and near areas in the school and picked up trash in common areas like the playground and nearby streets. The activity also aimed to teach students the value of teamwork and responsibility toward the environment. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved.

-Two things that worked well was the strong teamwork and cooperation among the students and teachers. Everyone had a role-some planted trees while others cleaned different areas, which made the activity organized and productive. Another positive part was the support from the school and community, as they provided tools, and seedlings fo the volunteers. The activity was also meaningful because it helped raise awareness about how small actions can protect nature. Seeing the clean surroundings and newly planted trees gave everyone a sense of pride and accomplishment.

-One issue that could be improved was the lack of proper planning and preparation before the activity. Some volunteers didn't have enough gloves or cleaning tools, which made the work slower and less safe. Another challenge was the limited follow-up after the event-some of the trees planted were not regularly watered or maintained. It would have been better if the school created a schedule for monitoring the trees and maintaining cleanliness. Communication could aslo be improved so that everyone knows their tasks clearly and the program well be organize next time.

I heard about a mangrove tree planting and coastal clean-up activity held in Panabo City, Davao del Norte. The event was organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in collaboration with student-volunteers and local youth groups. It took place along the coastal area of Barangay J.P. Laurel, near the Panabo Mangrove Park.

During the activity, volunteers planted mangrove propagules and picked up litter scattered along the shoreline. The main goal was to restore the mangrove forest and help protect the coastline from erosion and flooding. It also aimed to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment.

Through this initiative, the community came together to make the coastal area cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.

2. What worked well?

The event turned out to be a success thanks to the teamwork among volunteers, students, and local officials. Everyone actively participated and showed great enthusiasm throughout the activity. CENRO provided the seedlings, gloves, and tools, which made the work much easier.

With guidance from environmental officers, volunteers learned the proper way to plant mangroves. The collaboration between different groups fostered a strong sense of unity and purpose. Many students expressed pride in contributing to the protection of the environment.

Overall, the activity helped strengthen environmental awareness and community spirit among everyone involved.

One challenge encountered during the activity was the shortage of cleaning materials such as garbage bags and gloves. Some volunteers also didn’t receive clear instructions on where to plant or clean. As a result, a few areas were left unfinished or overlapped. To improve future activities, the organizers could assign team leaders to guide each group. They should also prepare enough tools and conduct a short orientation before starting. Regular monitoring of the planted mangroves would help ensure their growth and survival. Despite these minor issues, the event was still meaningful and inspiring for everyon

I joined the Panabo City Youth Fire and Rescue, a volunteer group made up of young people in Panabo City who step up to help during emergencies. These volunteers are mostly teenagers and young adults who are passionate about making a difference in their community. The activity focuses on responding to disasters like fires, earthquakes, floods, and other crises where people need quick help. Our main goal is to save lives and provide support to those affected by these events. By volunteering, we learn teamwork and gain skills that help us grow as individuals while serving others.

One thing that worked well was how our group quickly provided relief goods to families hit hard by disasters, which really helped ease their immediate needs. Another strong point was our fast response to fire emergencies, where we assisted in putting out fires and rescuing people safely. This hands-on approach built trust in the community, showing that young people can make a big difference. And better planning and follow-up after events, like checking in on affected families, would make our group's efforts more complete and s

Some volunteers also mentioned that additional tools and shade tents could have helped make the activity more comfortable. With better follow-up, wider inclusion, and improved logistics, future projects like this can have an even greater impact on both the environment and the people involved.

When I was in elementary school, I became part of the Red Cross Youth organization. This volunteer activity involved students like me who were interested in learning how to help others and promote safety in our school. The main goal of our participation was to enhance our knowledge and develop skills related to first aid, discipline, and disaster preparedness. It also aimed to teach us the importance of responsibility and teamwork even at a young age.

One of the most effective parts of our volunteer work was during earthquake drills. Everything we practiced was applied correctly, and everyone knew their roles. It was fulfilling to see that our training helped us stay calm and organized during the drills. We even had the chance to work together with the Bureau of Fire Protection in Panabo City, which made the experience more meaningful and realistic.

However, one thing that could have been improved was our communication. Since we were still young and learning, it was sometimes difficult for us to express our ideas clearly or coordinate properly. We needed the guidance of our teachers and professionals to help us stay focused and confident. Despite these challenges, the experience taught us valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and the importance of helping others.

Volunteerism is one way of filling critical gaps in our communities. Reflecting on my high school, I recall being an active member of the ‘Peer Facilitator’ organization. We are trained in conducting a seminar, which is called Teen Trail, in various schools around Panabo City. This organization aimed to raise awareness about pertinent youth issues, such as teenage pregnancy, gender equality, HIV, and sexually transmitted diseases. This helps specifically the youth to be aware of what the risks are if ever they engage in early sex. This was done through the participation of student volunteers and the beneficiaries, specifically the students and youth of Panabo City.  

This type of initiative exemplifies how we can effect change by empowering the youth with knowledge. This initiative and activity of the organization was effective and meaningful due to the use of student volunteers, which allowed for a successful peer-to-peer approach, making the seminars highly relatable and fostering a comfortable environment where youth beneficiaries felt safe to discuss sensitive issues without judgment. This direct engagement significantly boosted the participants' receptivity and openness to the message. Also, the effectiveness of this activity is largely due to its broad approach to education. Instead of focusing on one problem, the organization chooses to discuss several key issues. This holistic strategy equipped the student of Panabo City with full awareness, which, in turn, helped them make smarter and more responsible choices about their health and future, ensuring the seminar had a strong and lasting impact.

The seminar's reach had a problem with inclusiveness and accessibility. Since the program mainly targeted students in schools, it likely missed many young people who were out of school, working, or living in remote areas of Panabo City. These groups often have the highest risks for issues like teenage pregnancy and STDs. To correct this, the team should have planned to partner with local village (barangay) leaders and other groups. These partnerships would help locate and provide the "Teen Trail" seminar to the most vulnerable youth. This approach would ensure the program truly helped all youth community of Panabo.

‎The activity I joined was a Barangay Clean-Up Day. It was led by our barangay officials and joined by students, parents, and other volunteers. The goal was to make our community clean and healthy. We cleaned the streets, picked up trash like cellophanes, and swept the surroundings. The barangay gave us cleaning tools and reminded us about proper waste disposal. It was a nice activity because everyone worked together to keep our place clean.

One of the most meaningful school outreach activities I joined was giving relief food to families in Tuganay during the flood. Together with fellow officers and teachers, we packed and distributed goods to people who were badly affected. I saw how worried and tired the families were, so being able to help even in a small way meant a lot. I also joined a tree planting and mangrove clean-up drive in our community. The goal was to care for the environment and raise awareness about the importance of mangroves in protecting our coasts. Both activities showed me how people can come together to support each other and make a difference.

The volunteer activity titled “Oplan Backpack Heroes” was a donation drive organized by the Division of Panabo Supreme Student Governments during S.Y. 2024, with me serving as the President. The project aimed to collect and distribute school supplies to underprivileged students from different schools in the division. The goal was to promote equal access to education by helping students start the school year with the materials they needed. Various student leaders, teachers, and local sponsors collaborated in gathering donations and packing the backpacks. It was a meaningful effort that reflected the spirit of youth leadership and compassion within the community.

One of the most effective aspects of Oplan Backpack Heroes was the strong teamwork among student leaders across different schools. Everyone was dedicated, which made the planning and collection process smooth and efficient. Another factor that worked well was the active support from teachers and community partners who helped in promoting the campaign and extending donations like the Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Dapco. The coordination between schools and donors made the project not only successful but also inspiring, as it showcased how small acts of generosity could create a big impact on students’ motivation to learn.

What didn’t work well or could have been improved?

One major problem faced during Oplan Backpack Heroes was reaching schools located in far-flung areas, such as those in Mabunao. The roads leading there were risky and difficult to pass, which made the delivery of school supplies more challenging and time-consuming. Some volunteers even had to delay their trips for safety reasons. To address this issue in future activities, coordination with local government units or barangay officials could be done to provide transportation assistance or escort for safer delivery. Another solution is to schedule earlier trips to these remote schools or assign drop-off points closer to them to minimize travel risks. Strengthening partnerships with local organizations familiar with these areas can also help ensure smoother and safer distribution.

I had the chance to join our school's tree-planting activity in cooperation with the local government and environmental groups. The activity took place within a reforestation site near us that had been hit by deforestation. Teachers, students, and volunteers from the school participated in planting various native tree species. We received a brief orientation on tree importance and the correct methods of planting prior to planting. The experience created camaraderie and a spirit of responsibility for the environment.

One aspect that was well done was how organizers and participants were coordinated. The materials like seedlings, tools, and gloves were well prepared, and this made the process run smoothly and in an organized manner. All participated enthusiastically and motivated each other, and the environment was positive and cooperative. The orientation prior to the activity was also highly informative and enabled us to realize how our small contributions lead to long-term conservation of the environment. Another achievement was the partnership among students and citizens, which enhanced community cohesion and environmental dedication.

While the event was a success, there were still some aspects that needed to be improved. Some of the participants struggled to plant appropriately because not all of them were accorded close monitoring during the process. It would have been preferable if there were additional facilitators to lead smaller groups. Another matter was that there was not adequate follow-up checking of the planted trees to make sure they would grow and survive. Future events could involve planned visits or maintenance days to monitor the seedlings. That would make the project more sustainable and effective in the long term.

The volunteer activity I chose is a Coastal Clean-Up Drive, particularly in a shoreline area in Barangay JP Laurel. The event was participated in by students, youth volunteers, barangay officials, and representatives from local organizations. The main goal was to collect trash, reduce coastal pollution, and help protect marine life in the community. During the clean-up, they picked up plastics, bottles, and other waste washed up along the shore. The activity also aimed to raise awareness about the effects of pollution and encourage the public to be responsible in managing their waste. It was a meaningful project that brought people together for a shared environmental purpose.

Because of this, they were able to clean a large portion of the coastline in just a few hours. The experience also felt meaningful because they could immediately see the positive impact of their efforts on the environment. It inspired many to continue supporting activities that protect our ecosystem.

Although the clean-up drive was successful, there are still some areas that could be improved. First, there were not enough safety reminders about handling sharp or harmful waste, which could be risky for volunteers. Second, some areas lacked segregation stations, so sorting had to be done la instead of during the activity. There could also be communication about assigned zones, since some volunteers were unsure where to focus at the beginning. To improve the project, organizers could provide a short orientation, clearer instructions, and more cleanup tools. A follow up program for proper waste disposal or coastal monitoring would also make the impact more long lasting.

I joined several volunteer programs, including a school outreach initiative organized by TADECO, where we planted trees and conducted environmental cleanups. These activities aimed to promote sustainability and environmental awareness among students and the local community. I also participated in youth programs like Linggo ng Kabataan and the Youth Leadership Summit, which focused on empowering young people through leadership training, civic engagement, and community-building activities. These events brought together students, and volunteers to foster collaboration and advocacy.

In addition to these, I volunteered during a flood crisis by distributing clothes, relief goods, and clean water at the Carmen gym. This emergency response effort was a deeply moving experience, as it allowed me to directly support affected families and contribute to the spirit of bayanihan in times of hardship.

During the tree planting and cleanup, everyone from students to teachers and staff of tadeco was actively involved, making the work efficient and meaningful. The SK OFFICIALS also provided clear instructions and support, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

The flood relief effort also demonstrated the power of collective action. Volunteers quickly mobilized, and the distribution of goods at the Carmen gym was well-organized, ensuring that help reached those who needed it most.

While the outreach and youth programs were inspiring, there were areas that could be improved. For example, some activities lacked proper follow up after the tree planting, there wasn’t a system to monitor the growth or maintenance of the trees. In the leadership summit, time management was a challenge, some sessions felt rushed while others dragged on. While the LNK, their is lack participation of KK due to busy schedules in working and school. Improving communication and planning could make future events more inclusive and impactful, especially for participants who are new to volunteering or leadership roles.

Two aspects that made the Volunteer work effective and meaningful is that:

1. This project focuses on Community Engagement and Inclusivity were its actively encourages participation from youth and all members of the community. This inclusive approach fosters a sense of shared responsibility and ownership, making the environmental efforts more impactful and sustainable.

2. The Luntiang Pamana Project has gained significant traction and become well-known throughout Panabo City. The involvement of numerous institutions and organizations demonstrates the project's credibility and reach. This Widespread Institutional Support and Recognition not only amplifies the project's impact but also provides volunteers with a sense of validation and purpose, knowing their efforts are part of a larger, recognized movement.

This project could have been improved. By developing structured training programs for volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge related to environmental conservation such as tree planting, waste management, and organic farming. we can also develop collaborative projects outside community to expand the project's reach and impact and organize regular community forums to discuss environmental issues, share project updates, and gather community input. By focusing on these areas, the Luntiang Pamana Project can further enhance its effectiveness, impact, and long-term sustainability, creating a more meaningful experience for volunteers and a greater positive impact on the community and the environment.

Who was involved? What was the goal or purpose of the activity?

The volunteer activity that I have joined is named Luntiang Pamana. Basically, it is a tree planting program specifically mangroves that was held in Freedom park near the library. It was led by the Luntiang Pamana coordinator in our school which is Panabo City Senior High School, and some volunteer students just like myself. The purpose of that particular activity is to nurture some mangrove sampling and to make it ready to be planted at the Mangrove forest in Cagangohan. This mangrove then provides a natural habit to those organisms that takes nutrients and advantage to the Mangrove. Additionally, mangroves help to prevent tsunamis from growing stronger.

I think the aspects that made the volunteer work more effective and meaningful were the bond and collaboration we had with other students. I not only made friends with other students in our school but also learned the value of helping each other. We had some “chismis” while doing our task that made the activity less boring. Furthermore, the activity did not solely focus on teaching students the value of planting, but also they etched in the mind of students the value of “Pagkakaisa at Pagtutulungan” Which is vital considering that we tend to act fragmented in times of calamities. And I could proudly tell that we had finished our task all together, serene and right.

I think the only problem during our volunteer activity was the call time and the clothing, since it supposed to be early but some students came up late which resulted to a late start of conducting the activity though we finish it but it was lunch time exceeded prompting us to eat our lunch late, but we have at least some small snacks still I think they should have better planning and communication to prevent what had happened. And the other one is the T-shirt, since it was a planting activity so it was expected that we would get dirty so they ought to inform us to wear clothes that match the activity but they imposed us to wear a white T shirt, and some students got dirty Including me.

On May 22, 2025, around 70 volunteers from different coastal barangays in Panabo City like J.P. Laurel, Cagangohan, San Pedro, Salvacion, New Pandan, San Vicente, and New Malitbog joined together for a coastal cleanup drive. The activity was led by the City Agriculture Office with the help of local fishermen and OJT trainees from the Panabo LGU, and it was organized by BFAR XI through its Provincial Fishery Office. They cleaned up different kinds of trash such as plastic cups, water bottles, wrappers, diapers, styrofoam, used clothes, ropes, nylon lines, soft drink bottles, and even rubber tires. The program also showed the importance of farmers and fishermen in keeping food security and protecting the environment. It was not just about cleaning, but also about spreading awareness on how the cleanliness of the coast affects the life of the fisherfolk. It became both an environmental and community activity that honored those who help sustain our food systems.

2. What worked well?

One of the strong points of the activity was the teamwork between BFAR, LGU offices, and the local community like the fisherfolks and OJT students. Because of their cooperation, the project had wide support and shared responsibility. The large number of participants also made the cleanup more effective. Another good thing is that it focused on areas that really need attention like the coastal barangays that are affected by marine trash. It made volunteers feel that their work is important and really helps the community. Also, since the activity was part of the Farmers and Fisherfolk Month, it became more meaningful because it connected the cleanup with food security, environmental care, and community appreciation. This kind of program can inspire more people to join and keep the project going.

3. What didn’t work well or could have been improved?

While the activity was successful in gathering people and cleaning the coast, it seemed like it was only a one-time event instead of a continuous program. There was no mention of follow-up plans or monitoring to stop trash from coming back. I think to make it more sustainable, they should make regular cleanup schedules and improve the waste management system in the community, like putting proper segregation and disposal points near the coast. Educational campaigns can also help teach people about the bad effects of plastic waste and encourage them to reduce it. Lastly, even though it was a successful event, there were many barangays and different kinds of trash, so the coverage in each area might not be enough. It would be better to assign zones, make sure every group has enough tools, and safety gear for the collected trash.

The volunteer activity I participated in was a tree planting outreach program organized in collaboration with the local government unit. Some volunteers were also unaware of the correct methods of planting, affecting the survival rate of the seedlings. To improve future programs, organizers should provide sufficient tools and conduct an orientation on proper planting techniques. This will ensure better implementation and long-term impact, in accordance with Republic Act No. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which encourages environmental responsibility and community involvement in protecting natural resources.

Everyone worked together to remove trash, plastics, and other waste from the canals. ‎The goal of the activity was to make the environment clean and safe. They also wanted to prevent flooding by keeping the canals free from blockage. Another purpose was to teach people the importance of proper waste disposal. Lastly, they aimed to encourage everyone to maintain cleanliness in their own surroundings.

Tindog Tagum organized a relief operation on October 13, 2025, to assist the earthquake victims in Manay, Davao Oriental. Volunteers worked together to pack, deliver, and distribute around 300 hot meals, 200 food packs, 200 hygiene kits, and potable water to affected families. After the first relief operation, more volunteers and coordination were needed to continue aid efforts in Caraga, Davao Oriental. This showed the need to improve planning, communication, and volunteer mobilization for future missions. However, the team quickly addressed this by issuing a call for volunteers and ensuring safety measures through waiver signing.

Our senior high school organized a tree planting and cleanup drive. All the Grade 12 students participated, and we were grouped randomly to encourage teamwork and socializing. The activity was spearheaded by the school’s Socio Pastoral Affairs Office, which envisioned planting more mangrove trees and picking up garbage to promote environmental protection and preservation. They also hoped to encourage the people of Panabo to take part in caring for the environment, as it is our only refuge amidst the ever-changing climate. We were super excited because it was our first time doing an activity outside the school. It felt like an adventure, almost like a hike, and when we arrived, it was hilarious because it was so muddy and many of us slipped and fell. It was a unique way to connect with nature and co-students.

One thing that worked really well was the teamwork. Since we were randomly grouped, we got to work with people we don't usually hang out with. It was cool to see how everyone contributed their ideas and effort, making the work faster and more fun. Also, the chance to connect with nature was really meaningful. Being away from our phones and the usual school environment allowed us to appreciate the outdoors. Seeing the immediate impact of our work, like a cleaner area and newly planted trees, made us feel like we were making a real difference, which was very fulfilling.

The location was quite far and secluded, which raised some safety concerns. It would be better if the activity was held in a more accessible area or if there were more safety measures in place, like a first-aid station and better communication systems. Also, the planning could have been better in terms of transportation. It was a bit difficult to get to the site, and some students had a hard time finding transportation. Lastly, there was a lack of follow-up activities, it would be great if we could revisit the area to check on the trees we planted and continue maintaining the cleanliness of the area.

Back in my senior high year I participated a volunteer activity in school with my classmates and my teachers and it is a combination of tree planting and coastal clean up in the Pantukan Panabo sea side. And as a participants we spent our morning planting mangroves tree and in the afternoon we collect trash in the shoreline of the Pantukan Panabo City. And the main goal of the activity is to stop the deterioration of the environment and reducing the trash in the coastal area and raise awareness about climate change impacts, such as the rising sea levels and habitat loss, while fostering a community engagement.

2. What worked well?

What work well was the strong sense of community to support each other and teamwork to do the volunteer activity of tree planting and coastal clean up. As we work together smoothly by dividing the areas that we need to plant the trees and the area to clean and by arriving early so that we could start early. Overall by the help of each other the activity become both successful and meaningful.

Although the activity was effective but their is just challenges the area was remote at that time and you need to walk 1 km to reach the area, which cause some volunteers to arrive really late that delayed our activity. And also the lack of materials for cleaning that slow our activity. And it could be improved if the school plan and provide enough material that we

could use their.

A volunteer experience I had was a church outreach program organized by Samaritan’s purse, which was conducted after every two years. The volunteer was about giving presents to children within the local community, usually organized in a church. I was an assistant teacher and I was involved in facilitating games, gave out gifts and telling Bible stories. At the event, the members of the church, youth volunteers, and youth leaders collaborated in the event preparation and operation. The primary aim of the event was to bear the love of Jesus with humble presents and happy communication as well as to provide the children with a memorable and valuable experience.

To begin with, there was high teamwork among the volunteers. There were also defined roles and the event was well organized and smooth. Second, the smiling faces of the children indicated that the gifts and attention were important to them. The fun activities, teaching, and the personal connection made the experience not only to be impactful on the kids, but also a fulfillment to us volunteers.

Take into consideration such problems as safety, planning, one of the difficulties was the insufficient preparation time prior to the event. Our responsibilities were a bit hurried in the case of some of the volunteers such as myself. Training or orientation would be provided earlier. In addition, the gift-giving might be followed by additional activities to maintain the relationship between the children and their families, not limited to a one-day occasion.

Through this activity, I firmly realized that volunteerism is not just about cleaning but also about learning and advocacy. It also taught me how small actions, when done collectively, can have a meaningful impact on the environment. I also became more conscious of my own plastic consumption and how everyday habits contribute to larger environmental issues. Moreover, the event built stronger ties among students and teachers, showing that environmental protection is everyone’s responsibility. Through that experience it encouraged me to continue participating in sustainability initiatives.

What I appreciated most was the sense of unity and purpose shared by everyone involved. Even though the task was physically tiring, the joy of seeing the beach cleaner made it all worth it. It reminded me that community work does not always need big resources that sometimes, genuine effort and concern for the environment are enough to create positive change. Lastly, if more people engaged in such initiatives regularly, we could greatly reduce negative pollution and preserve our natural surroundings for future generations.

   It was a successful activity because I saw how motivated they were after having their stomach fed. We were happy to see their delight as they sipped the hot coffee and ate warm bread. There was this instance where an elderly mother shared something about her life as a street-sweeper. She said that there really are times when she couldn't even eat before she got to work because their food was just enough for her 4 kids. She would go to work and sweep the street with grumbling stomach feeling hungry. After working she would be able to eat with the little money that she had but it still wasn't enough to get them by. Which is why I think our activity really helped because aside from the fact that it is really important to eat, we also know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe it wasn't a hearty meal, but we saw in their eyes that they were already grateful with what they received. Aside from this, it also helped build our empathy to other people which is an important aspect for us to be able to worship God and live by His words.

   Although all of us contributed to have the resources to make this activity successful, it was still not enough to feed. We ran out of coffee and bread which was unfortunate because that was also the time when tricycle drivers and students finally appeared and we could not give them anything anymore. So I think to improve this we should have really allocated more funds for our resources.

The volunteer activity that I recently joined is the "Pulot Basura" in our barangay. "Pulot Basura" is a volunteer activity where all volunteers clean up litter and waste around the barangay. The activity involves removing garbage from streets, waterways, and public places. This initiative engaged local residents and the school, with middle-aged people and youth comprising most participants, signifying a widespread concern for the environment across different age groups in our barangay. The primary goal of the "Pulot Basura" is environmental conservation and improving community health by reducing hazards and promoting sanitation. This volunteer activity also aims to create a safer living environment and promote longevity among residents. Furthermore, "Pulot Basura" also raises awareness about proper waste disposal and environmental responsibility, and it raises awareness of the possible effects of dirty or unclean surroundings and the effects of human actions on the environment. In this activity, we will also provide garbage cans and signage for each purok within our barangay and establish a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Overall, the "Pulot Basura" activity in our barangay fosters community engagement and a sense of civic duty towards environmental care.

Based on my observations, specifically during the picking up of trash and the construction of the MRF, I noticed how well people coordinated with each other. They lent a hand willingly and shared their skills, especially in building the MRF. Everybody was ready to cooperate and listen to the instructions so that the activity would run smoothly. They helped each other in doing difficult tasks such as carrying bags of cement and other materials for the construction of the MRF, and observed if their kabarangay needed help in performing their tasks. The activity was successful because of not just the cooperation of the people but also how the organizers organized the tasks and handled the people, which led to a more efficient and effective implementation of the activity. What worked well also was the Damayan and Bayanihan spirit of the residents; everyone showed a willingness to help each other to achieve the goal of the activity, extending their support beyond the event to their neighbors. Despite the tiring nature of walking around the barangay to collect garbage, the residents were still enthusiastically helping the community, demonstrating that collective effort and mutual support can overcome any obstacle.

There are several things that could have been improved in the volunteer activity. One of them is the safety of the volunteers. During the construction of the MRF, there was a lack of safety measures, such as proper attire for the volunteers building the MRF and those picking up trash. I observed that most of us didn't have proper safety measures, such as protective suits and hats for the volunteers, and gloves for picking up the trash to ensure that volunteers were not handling hazardous materials with their bare hands. The lack of awareness, especially in waste reduction and recycling, could also be addressed to supplement the short-term cleanups and should be emphasized during "Pulot Basura." "Pulot Basura" is a temporary solution and does not address the underlying issues that lead to littering and waste accumulation, and there was no regular maintenance and monitoring done to prevent the re-accumulation of waste. There was also no activity done to raise awareness of waste reduction strategies, and I think it should be included, like promoting reusable alternatives and how we can create trash into something useful that can be a source of income. "Pulot Basura" is a short-term solution, but there are things that can be done to make it more effective and efficient and be a long-term solution to the long-term problem of the community.

I volunteer “Clean Up Drive in Seawall Cagangohan” When I was in grade 12. This volunteer work involved students from our school and our goal was to clean up to improve the cleanliness in seaside of Cagangohan and the purpose is to prevent possible health problems and maintain healthy environment in cagangohan.

Back on last year’s NSTP class, I joined my fellow NSTP students and faculty members on May 9, 2025, at Barangay J.P. Laurel, Panabo City, as a participant in the DNSC NSTP: Coastal Greening and Eco Action Program. The event was organized by Davao del Norte State College in partnership with the college’s Disaster Resiliency and Administration Committee, together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office. The main goal of the program was to help rehabilitate the coastal environment, primarily through greening activities (mangrove-planting) and as well as coastal cleaning, to learn more about disaster preparedness by getting involved and working directly in the community. I remember that we were formally excused from regular classes so we could dedicate time and energy to this volunteer work, which felt validating and supportive on the part of our college, as this was a major performance for our NSTP subject.

Additionally, during the time I noticed a strong spirit of teamwork during the event, everyone was genuinely eager to contribute, and local government partners were present to provide guidance and resources. Beyond tree planting and coastal clean-up, we were also encouraged to think about how these simple acts connect to bigger issues like climate change and community resilience.

Personally, I found the activity both educational and inspiring, knowing our small effort, as students, was part of a larger movement toward sustainable development.

‎Reflecting on what made the activity successful, I’d like highlight the strong partnership between the college and local government offices, especially CENRO, whose involvement gave us direction and structure for the coastal greening. The event also benefited from the college's clear support for volunteerism, it can be seen in how they prioritized our participation and formally excused us from regular classes. This kind of institutional backing made the activity feel legitimate and important, highlighting the importance of dedicating time for students to engage in programs that promote volunteerism.

‎Admittedly, I admired the way, us, students were encouraged to work together, building connection and shared responsibility through hands-on engagement. Even the opportunity to collaborate with community leaders and environmental officers, that I observed to be important, for it expanded our perspective to this kind of initiatives.

Additionally, the outreach gave concrete learning moments about environmental stewardship and disaster readiness, moving beyond just verbal advocacy to encourage personal commitment. The project was truly meaningful because it challenged us to take action and think critically about the sustainability of our environment, not just listen passively in lectures in the course subject we’re studying.

‎Despite of the things that worked well, I observed that there were areas where things could have been improved. Most particularly, the communication of safety protocols before the event. It could have been more detailed, as I found myself unsure about some specific expectations and responsibilities, especially regarding what to do in case of emergencies.

Additionally, while organizers promised that guidelines would be strictly observed, it would have helped to receive a comprehensive orientation or briefing before starting, clarifying our roles and safety measures. Because prior to the event, we were called to form an assembly with informal instructions given: what proper clothes to wear weren’t finalized, as well as the required equipments to bring. There were also lack of clarifications for other students who weren’t able to attend the assembly, causing delays on the actual day of the program.

Another area for improvement is follow-up: there was limited opportunity to share feedback or reflect on our experiences afterwards. Incorporating post-event surveys or group reflections would help identify challenges, not only for the students involved but for the faculty assigned as well. It can also celebrate successes, and allow a cycle of continuous improvement. Making sure everyone's voice is heard in planning and evaluation could enhance inclusiveness, as it is crucial to acknowledge the ideas of others in the matter of organization for the betterment of the flow of the program, helping future activities respond better to different participants' needs.

Lastly, planning for possible logistical problems, such as transportation or weather, even post-event resources, should be addressed in future events, making sure all volunteers feel both safe and supported from start to finish. This is for the reason that after the mangrove-planting, all students were promptly directed to the BFAR facilities to help them clean themselves, this was partly disorganized in our end, being prompted to fall in line and rushed to move time-consciously in order to access clean water because it is causing delay to our dismissal.

‎Last summer, I joined a community cleanup drive organized by our barangay youth council in cooperation with the local government of Braulio E. Dujali. The activity focused on cleaning public areas such as parks, drainage canals, and the riverbank. Students, teachers, and volunteers from different organizations participated. This led to confusion and inefficiency, with some volunteers duplicating efforts while others were unsure of what to do.Safety was also a concern, as not all volunteers were provided with proper protective gear like gloves, boots, or masks, which are essential when dealing with sharp or hazardous waste. Communication among organizers and participants was limited, especially for first-time volunteers who felt left out or unsure of how to contribute effectively. Another aspect that could be improved is post-cleanup follow. up there wasn’t a clear system for evaluating the impact of the drive or maintaining the cleanliness of the area afterward.

The volunteer activity I joined was organized by the Panabo City Veterinary Section as part of the Serbisyong Barangay Oplan Kalinaw Outreach Program in Barangay Katipunan, Panabo City on April 15, 2024. The event aimed to provide free veterinary services to the community, including rabies vaccinations and deworming for pets, as well as the distribution of repacked supplements and medicines for farm animals. Local farmers and pet owners in Barangay Katipunan were the main beneficiaries, while the volunteers included City Veterinarian Doc Jhon, Veterinary Aides, PCNHS Senior High School Students and Barangay Officials. The overall goal was to promote animal health, prevent the spread of diseases, and support the livelihood of farmers by improving the well-being of their animals. This initiative also sought to strengthen the connection between the local government and the community.

If the organizers had sent reminders or a quick briefing beforehand, it would have made everything easier and more coordinated.

One volunteer activity I joined was a community clean-up drive in our barangay. Students, youth volunteers, and local officials worked together to clean the streets and public areas. The goal of the activity was to make our community clean and to teach people the importance of taking care of the environment. We picked up trash, planted small trees, and reminded others not to litter. It was a good way to help our surroundings and show teamwork.

What worked well:

Additionally, since some people were confused about the time and location, we could do a better job of communicating before the event. To make things easier the next time, we might strive for more organized procedures and clearer instructions. But, despite these small issues, the activity was still successful because everyone worked together to finish the clean-up. It also taught us the importance of planning and teamwork in every community project.

The volunteer activity I observed in our community was a disaster response operation conducted after a strong flood struck a nearby community. The initiative involved residents, volunteers, and barangay officials who worked together to provide relief assistance. The tasks included distributing food packs, clean water, and clothing to affected families, as well as cleaning damaged areas. The main goal of the activity was to help restore the community’s well-being and provide immediate support to residents who suffered losses due to the disaster.

Everyone contributed their time and effort, which made the distribution and cleanup process organized and efficient. Another positive factor was the strong community involvement. Many residents willingly offered help despite their own difficulties, showing unity and compassion. These aspects made the volunteer work more meaningful and impactful for everyone involved.

3. What didn’t work well or could have been improved?

Despite its success, the activity also faced several challenges. One of the main issues was poor coordination and communication among some volunteer teams, resulting in minor delays and confusion regarding the distribution areas. Another concern was the lack of safety materials, such as gloves, masks, and first aid supplies, which made certain tasks more difficult and unsafe. To improve future disaster response operations, it is recommended that organizers strengthen communication systems and prepare safety equipment and logistics beforehand. Addressing these areas would help ensure smoother and more secure volunteer efforts.

The volunteer activity I joined is the PPCRV volunteer. I joined this activity twice. It gives a community outreach program focused on providing basic necessities and spiritual support to all voters in the local barangay. We serve with integrity, faith, and courage. And we served because we need a peaceful election and without biases. The involved of this activity are all parishioners of San Roque Parish Malabog, who's willing to volunteer to give their time to participate this activity.

2. What worked well?

The aspect that made the volunteer work effective or meaningful is the strong bound of all volunteers, some of us are youth and some are elders so we have a awkward communication at first but eventually we communicate each other like a long time friends. Have a good communication improvement, especially those shy volunteer because we need to communicate all voters so we need to talk and that way our communication skill is improved. And many voters were helped to find where their rooms to vote. And that election is done so well because of our unity.

3. What didn't work well or could have been improved?

We need to improve next time the rules we should give a sticker guidelines so that the voters should follow and all voters can consult us. Because if this rules not implemented many voters became chaotic and cannot follow the rules, and many voters must get injured because of pushing.

2. One of the aspects that worked well during the activity was the high level of participation and enthusiasm shown by the student volunteers. Their eagerness to help not only benefited the environment but also allowed them to grow personally. Another effective aspect was the collaboration between Panabo City Senior High School volunteers and CENRO LGU Panabo, along with the 27th IB, PNP, and BJMP officials, which ensured that the tree planting was carried out properly, using the right planting methods and suitable locations for the seedlings. In addition, the tree planting activity successfully brought people together which promote unity and cooperation among students, public servants, and environmental workers. Because of this experience, the volunteers, including me, gained a deeper understanding of how we can promote sustainability and conserve our environment . It is indeed a productive, meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.

3. While the activity was generally successful, there were certain aspects that could be improved. First, safety was a concern since several tree planting sites were located in remote and hard-to-reach areas with limited safety measures. Second, the limited transportation which prevented other willing students from participating despite their eagerness and interest. These made the activity less inclusive and more difficult to sustain. However, to improve future projects, better planning, communication, and coordination should be implemented, along with safer and more accessible transportation arrangements. Thus, it is important to address these kind of concern to make future volunteer activity more effective and to continue promoting sustainability.

The activity went well because of strong teamwork and good coordination among the volunteers. The organizers assigned different groups for specific tasks some collected and segregated trash, others cleared blocked portions of the river, while a few handled the documentation and logistics. The SK also provided protective gloves, snacks, and water to keep everyone safe and energized throughout the event. What made the experience meaningful was witnessing people of all ages come together with a shared purpose: to restore the river’s natural beauty and keep the community clean.

However, there were still aspects that could be improved. Some volunteers lacked enough tools, such as tongs, boots, and extra garbage bags, which made the cleanup process slower and more challenging. There was also no clear follow-up plan to maintain the cleanliness of the river after the event. It would have been better if the SK or barangay organized regular clean-up activities or partnered with schools to encourage continuous participation. Despite these minor issues, the experience taught me that volunteerism is not only about one-time actions. It’s about commitment, cooperation, and the shared responsibility of caring for the community and the environment.

To support the victims of the earthquake in New Leyte, Maco, Davao de Oro, Apex Mining Co. Inc. conducted a relief operation. Volunteers went house to house to distribute 50 meals, 50 food packs, 50 hygiene kits, and drinking water as a sign of unity and compassion. They also spent time talking with the affected families, offering comfort and encouragement to help them cope with the disaster. The activity was successful because of the teamwork and open communication among the volunteers, who shared one goal to help those in need. Everyone worked with dedication to ensure that every household received assistance. Some challenges were faced, such as limited supplies, planning issues, and difficulty reaching certain areas due to damaged roads. Despite these problems, the activity remained meaningful and successful, reminding everyone that cooperation and kindness can bring hope and strength during tough times.

Having a clear list of affected areas and assigned teams would help ensure that help reaches everyone who needs it.

The activity showed the excitement of student-teachers in managing the lessons and was enjoyable and meaningful. By showing the time and effort students and educators put into their work, it improved collaboration and appreciation between the two groups. But the challenge is every student they teach has different attitude so they need get along that aspect of the student and also the preparation of there lesson or activity.

This activity encourage us how important discipline and leadership are to the field. The student-teacher experience during Teachers’ Month was both enjoyable and challenge for me. It allowed students to step into the shoes of their teachers and understand the true value of their hard work. This volunteer activity not only celebrated our teachers but also gives to inspired other students to appreciate education more than they know.

The volunteer activity I want to talk about is the Panabo Animal Rescue Volunteers, a local group that helps stray and injured animals in the community. They rescue dogs and cats, provide medical care, and find them new homes through adoption. The group is made up of animal lovers who dedicate their time and effort to protect and care for abandoned pets. I didn’t personally join their rescue missions, but I supported them by donating a small amount of money to help buy food and medicine. Their goal is to create a safer and kinder environment for animals in Panabo City. I admire how they show compassion not only through words but through real action.

One thing that worked well in their volunteer work is their strong sense of teamwork and dedication. The volunteers communicate clearly and work together during rescue operations, which helps them respond quickly to animals in need. Another strength is their social media presence, they use Facebook to share rescue stories and encourage people to adopt instead of buying pets. This makes the project more visible and helps them gain more supporters. Their transparency and updates also build trust with donors like me, making it easier to see how even small contributions can make a big difference.

One challenge the group faces is limited funding, since they rely mostly on donations and volunteer effort. Sometimes, they can’t rescue all the animals because they lack resources for medical treatment or shelter space. It would be helpful if they could partner with local businesses or schools for more consistent support. Another improvement could be organizing community education programs about responsible pet ownership to prevent more animals from being abandoned. Despite these challenges, their compassion and hard work continue to inspire many people, including me.

The teamwork of all the organization made the activity successful and how they cooperated and enjoyed the activity despite the heat. The activity also showed us how can the partnership in different group can make the volunteer work more impactful and efficiency.

If there is something that could be improved maybe the time management and coordination of the other organization because of there are many organizations involved where some of them started a bit late. Still, the activity was successful overall and filled with positivity and teamwork.

The participation of the persons involved or part of the ministry are active and also they are commited to do the works whole heartedly and no hesitation and also the volunteers know the value and meaning of the activity where it doesn't only benefit one but the many. The volunteers also undergo full training that made them more equipped to do their task and this is also a meaningful experience especially to those volunteers who will enter the teaching field in the future.

3. Despite all the participation and dedication there are still unseen circumstances that can slightly affect the activity which is the overlapping of schedules of the volunteer's personal life and the volunteer program causing it to use another person's schedule. The only key to this minimal issues is good communication, by informing ahead of time so there will be no conflict on the schedule.

Two things made the cleanup drive effective. First, the teamwork was strong. Youth helped each other, shared tools, and motivated one another to finish the task. Second, the barangay provided support by lending cleaning equipment and assigning leaders to guide each group. These efforts made the activity organized and meaningful. It also gave us a sense of pride seeing our surroundings clean and safe from possible health risks.

One issue was the lack of proper safety gear. Some volunteers didn’t have gloves or masks, which exposed them to dirt and sharp objects. Another concern was the absence of a waste segregation system. All collected trash was mixed together, which made it harder to dispose properly. For future cleanups, it would be better to provide protective gear and teach volunteers how to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. This would make the activity safer and more sustainable.

During the activity two aspects that worked well were, first, the teamwork and cooperation among the volunteers. Individuals, LGUs, and different organizations were eager to contribute and volunteer themselves, making the activity enjoyable and organized. The other one is good community participation. Through each one's participation, it strengthens the community and the relationship between humans and how we care for our environment. These two aspects do not only benefit the human but also the marine life, which balances our environment and leads to cleaner beaches and healthier marine ecosystems.‎

But despite the activity, there are issues that could have been improved or may face challenges again, as we consider. It could be the limited cleaning tools like gloves, tongs, sacks, etc. that may affect the safety and health of the volunteers. Some participants during the activity may not or did not follow proper waste segregation, which can lead to higher waste management costs or risk to public health. If we continue to practice such issues, it may risk the health of the marine life and our environment that gives balance to ecosystems. We humans should think that our health and animal life in the ecosystem are in our hands; it is in our way of how we protect it.

  Moreover, this volunteer work was effective and meaningful for two main reasons. First, we did real, hands-on work. By actually cleaning our school, collecting trashes one by one in scorching heat, and planting trees, we saw the direct results of our efforts.  This experience not only fostered a strong sense of camaraderie among students but also highlighted the need for more volunteer activities in our society. Second, the successful collaboration with the LGU provided not only strong support but also a sense of legitimacy and shared purpose, letting us realize how community partnerships can amplify the impact of youth-led initiatives.

  However, although the intention were admirable, I have seen many students used their private motorcycles for transportation to the outreach site because of the lack of transportation vehicles, which posed a threat and risks for students safety. Therefore, securing organized and centralized transportation vehicles should be a priority in such activities, ensuring that every student volunteers can contribute safely and comfortably, making the activity to remain the sole focus. Additionally, they must provide adequate safety gear that is essential to protect volunteers in future activities. Since, while segregating the trash, we encountered numerous hazardous materials. Without proper protective equipment like heavy-duty gloves, the student volunteers were unnecessarily exposed to danger.

One thing that worked well was the strong collaboration among the R-PSB, Barangay Council, and residents of Purok 12. Everyone participated actively, contributing their time, skills, and labor to finish the project efficiently. Another success was the clear goal of the activity, which motivated all volunteers to work hard because they knew the project would greatly benefit the whole people who lived in that area. The teamwork and unity among participants made the task lighter and more enjoyable. This project not only solved a practical problem but also built trust and cooperation among the police and the residents.

Although the project was successful, there were still some areas that could be improved. One issue was the limited availability of tools and materials, which caused minor delays in the construction process. Better planning of materials and tools could have helped the work go more smoothly and finish faster. Communication between groups could be better by making clearer schedules, giving each person a task, and choosing one leader to guide the work. Safety could also be improved by giving workers protective gear and a short safety talk before starting. Some people suggested letting more community members join, especially the youth, so they can help and learn. It would also be good to have clean-up days to keep the water reservoir clean and working well for all 50 families. These changes would help future projects be more organized, open to all, and last longer.

What worked well in this activity was the teamwork of the organizers and volunteers. Everyone worked together to make the program organized and successful. Many residents joined and were able to have their check-ups for free. The place was also good because the barangay gym was wide and easy to reach. People felt comfortable and happy that they were given a chance to know more about their health without spending money.

There were some things that could be improved. Since many people came, others had to wait a long time before being checked. It would be better if there were more doctors and volunteers to help make the process faster. Also, some residents said they only found out about the program on the same day. The organizers can improve this by giving announcements earlier through social media or barangay officers. Even with these small issues, the activity was still successful and helped many people in the community.

We planned every part of the program, which helped it flow smoothly and meaningfully. Seeing the smiles of the children and hearing them sing worship songs with joy made all our efforts worthwhile.

Although the program was successful, there were still a few things that could be improved. Some activities started a bit late due to time management issues, and a few materials for the lessons were not enough for all the children. For future programs, it would be better to have more volunteers and resources to ensure that every child participates fully. We could also improve communication and coordination among team members, especially in preparing the venue and materials ahead of time. Despite these small challenges, the experience was truly meaningful because it strengthened not only the faith of the children but also our sense of service to God.

2. One aspect that worked well was the strong sense of compassion and shared primary purpose rather than personal purpose among the spiritual volunteers. Each member had a clear role—others from the kids ministry and supply gathering to facilitating group activities—making the outreach organized and smooth even in hard-to-reach locations. Secondly, the genuine connection formed with the indigenous communities made the experience deeply meaningful. Rather than a one-time handout, there were consistent follow-ups and return visits, which built trust and lasting relationships. This helped the indigenous families feel seen, respected, and valued, rather than treated as charity cases.

3. One major challenge was safety and accessibility. Some locations required hours of hiking or travel on unsafe roads, especially during the rainy season. There were instances when medical emergencies or vehicle breakdowns occurred, highlighting the need for better risk management and contingency plans. Another area for improvement was inclusiveness and communication. While most spiritual volunteers were trained in interacting respectfully with indigenous cultures, there were moments when language barriers or unintentional cultural insensitivities occurred. In the future, involving local tribal leaders more deeply in the planning process and conducting pre-departure cultural briefings could make the outreach more inclusive and respectful.

There were no clear guidelines on how to take care of the seedlings afterward, so we were unsure about the next steps to ensure their growth. The organization could have improved by assigning groups for monitoring or coordinating with local officials for maintenance. Additionally, the area was quite muddy, and we ended up walking barefoot because of the environmental conditions. Better planning and preparation, such as bringing extra footwear or protective gear, could have made the experience more comfortable and safe for everyone. Despite these challenges, it was still a valuable learning experience.

One of the best things that worked well was the teamwork among participants. Everyone was willing to help, and the spirit of cooperation made the work faster and lighter. Another aspect that went well was the coordination from the organizers. They provided gloves, masks, and refreshments for all volunteers, which made the activity safe and comfortable. Communication was also clear. Each group had assigned areas, so there was no confusion about what to do. Our barangay even arranged a waste collection truck to pick up the trash afterward, showing good planning and follow-up. These details made the project organized and effective.

While the activity was successful overall, there were still a few areas that could be improved. For instance, some volunteers arrived late, which delayed the start of the cleanup. In the future, it might help to set stricter time reminders or provide a short orientation before the activity begins. Another issue was the lack of enough trash bins in the area, so we had to pile the garbage in one spot while waiting for collection. Providing more bins or composting areas could make the cleanup more sustainable. Lastly, it would have been nice to include an educational talk about proper waste segregation to reinforce the purpose of the project.

Participating in the cleanup drive reminded me that small efforts can lead to big changes in the community. It taught me that volunteering is not just about giving time but also about building habits that benefit others and the environment. I realized that when people come together for a common cause, it creates a sense of unity and shared responsibility. The experience also made me more aware of how my daily actions, like using less plastic or disposing of trash properly, contribute to a cleaner and healthier place to live. Overall, it was a meaningful experience that motivated me to keep supporting community projects in the future.

Another good thing was the positive attitude of everyone involved. People were motivated and willing to help, which made the activity not just productive but also enjoyable for everyone.

One problem we faced was the lack of proper security and safety measures. Since the clean-up was held on the roads, there were many passing vehicles, which made it a bit dangerous for some volunteers. This could have been improved by assigning traffic officers or barangay tanod to manage the flow of vehicles. Better planning and coordination regarding safety could make future clean-up drives safer for everyone.

2. The area that worked well in the activity is the collaborative efforts of the volunteers. Everyone had a specific role to perform, such as fixing the chairs, painting the chairs, and assisting in arranging the finished ones. The tools and materials were properly prepared, so the process was smoother and quicker. Another good thing was the attitude of my co-volunteers, who were positive and made the activity enjoyable and worthwhile. It was meaningful because we were able to see how our simple effort could make a huge impact on the students who would be using those chairs.

3. There were still a few things that could be improved, such as the limited equipment like brushes and sandpaper, this issue made it difficult for everyone to work at the same time. There were also instances when communication among volunteers must be improved to prevent confusion in tasks. In spite of these little issues, the activity was a wonderful experience that led us to learn the importance in participating such activities.

This Volunteer activity is solely for the purpose of feeding and catering donation, because during this time, the locals from this barangay and other parts of carmen suffer greatly from the flood, many are affected especially in terms of food, clothing and other basic necessities which is a problem that we targeted to have a solution. Many are also involved during this project specifically my groupmates in my class, for this is an academic compliance. And so this activity is what we've come up to aid those in need specifically in the area of Brgy. Ising. Feeding them with hot rice porridge and donating some clothes for them.

2. First aspect that worked well is that their need for dry clothing has been met, and second aspect is that the food that they were given have helped them through their nutrition for the day. They were grateful for the project as their needs during difficult times have been met, giving them hope to rise back up again to live and stand up on their feet once again. From one person to another, we must help each other.

3. What didn't work well is the lack of resources such as the paper cups and spoons for serving the rice porridge. And also the clothes seem not enough for there are a lot of people. And lastly, the proper communication and assignments of tasks for proper organization and efficient project.

This volunteer work became especially effective and memorable for two main reasons. First, as STEM-CORVUS students, we shared a deep compassion for animals, which fostered unity, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose throughout the activity. Our shared motivation made every effort feel rewarding and purposeful. Second, the full support from our school administration helped us carry out the initiative smoothly, ensuring that our goals were accomplished without major obstacles.

However, the activity also revealed areas that needed improvement. The main challenge was the lack of detailed planning and coordination. Although the project began successfully, some logistical issues—such as uneven food distribution and unclear task assignments—limited its overall impact. With better organization, advanced planning, and clearer communication, our volunteer work could have reached even more animals and served as a model for future community projects.

From what I heard, the cleanup was successful because many people participated and worked together. The teamwork between the youth volunteers and the barangay officials made the task faster and more organized. The leaders also made sure there were enough cleaning materials and trash bags for everyone. It was inspiring to know that even students took part in helping the community. The event showed that cooperation and shared goals can make a big difference.

One thing that could have been improved was the safety and organization of the activity. Some volunteers didn’t have gloves or masks, and there weren’t enough vehicles to collect the garbage right away. With better planning and preparation, the cleanup could have gone more smoothly. Still, it was a good and inspiring activity that encouraged everyone to care for their environment.

There are things that work well and do not work well as I decided to participate and take action wholeheartedly for the community, for the people who truly need our hand. For the things that work well, it is when I encourage my family, friends, and neighbors to donate financially, just a small amount. Also, those clothes of mine that I am no longer using, I donated them, and I also asked the people around me. My family and some of our neighbors personally go to the affected areas to help and donate.

There are things that did not work well, which is the communication, because I just encouraged my neighbors informally; maybe if I just posted a formal and persuasive text in an online platform, maybe we could generate many more donations.

One of the most effective aspects of the coastal cleanup was the strong collaboration between the school, local government, and community organizations. This partnership ensured enough manpower, resources, and logistical support to cover a wide area efficiently. Another aspect that made the activity meaningful was the student engagement. Being directly involved in cleaning the beach made us realize the environmental impact of littering and the importance of collective action. It wasn’t just a cleanup—it was an educational experience that helped raise awareness about environmental issues and the role of young people in addressing them.

3. What didn't work well or could have been improved? Consider issues such as safety, planning, communication, inclusiveness, or follow-up.
One area that could have been improved was the initial planning and communication before the event. Some participants were unsure about the exact schedule, transportation details, and what materials or tools to bring, which caused slight delays at the start of the activity. Additionally, while the cleanup itself was well-attended, not all students were given equal opportunities to take on leadership roles or speak about their experiences afterward. Including a short reflection session or open forum could have helped students process what they learned and feel more included. Better pre-event orientation and post-event discussions would have made the experience more organized and impactful.

The Voluntary activity I joined was the Clean-up Drive in our barangay. last time, our barangay organized a community clean-up drive as part of its campaign to maintain cleanliness and promote environmental awareness. The activity was led by barangay officials and the sangguniang kabataan (SK) officers with cooperation of youths and community members. Everyone gathered early in the morning at the barangay hall for a short orientation before starting the clean-up. Volunteers were then assigned to different areas such as the streets, drainages, and public spaces. The main purpose of the activity was to encourage cooperation among locals and to remind everyone of the importance of a clean and healthy environment because of the last flooding we encountered all of the people in the community is united.

2. What Worked Well

One of the strengths of the activity was the active participation of the community members. Everyone worked together, showing teamwork and unity throughout the event. The presence of barangay officials and SK officers also contributed to the success of the activity by providing proper guidance and ensuring that every group had a clear task. Despite the hot weather, the volunteers remained passionate, which made the work more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Although the activity was generally successful, there were a few areas that could be improved. Some volunteers did not have enough cleaning materials such as gloves, trash bags/sacks, and brooms, which made the work more difficult for certain groups. In addition, better coordination and time management could help cover a wider area in future clean-up drives. Having a follow-up schedule for maintaining cleanliness would also ensure that the positive results of the activity are sustained over time.

The volunteer activity I joined was the Children’s Ministry in JIA Panabo Church. It involved church volunteers, youth members, and Sunday school teachers. Our goal was to teach children about God’s love through Bible stories, songs, and games. We also wanted to help them grow in good values and build friendships. Every Sunday, we gathered the kids, shared lessons, and created a fun learning space for them. The purpose was not only to teach faith but also to guide them to be kind and respectful individuals.

2. What worked well?

One thing that worked well was the teamwork among the volunteers. Everyone helped each other in preparing the lessons, organizing activities, and managing the children. Another thing that went great was the children’s excitement and participation. They enjoyed singing, learning Bible stories, and doing crafts. These moments made the activity meaningful because we could see how the kids were learning and having fun at the same time. It also strengthened our bond as a church community.

3. What didn’t work well or could have been improved?

One challenge we faced was managing time. Sometimes, the activities took longer than expected, and we couldn’t finish all our planned lessons. Another thing that could be improved is communication among volunteers, especially during busy Sundays. It would help if we had clearer schedules or group chats to plan ahead. Also, adding more safety measures and materials for the kids would make the program smoother. Despite these, it was still a heartwarming and meaningful experience for everyone involved.

One issue was the lack of proper safety gear like gloves or masks for everyone. Some volunteers had to share or bring their own, which wasn’t very convenient. Also, the schedule was announced on short notice, so not many people were able to join. The organizers could improve by giving earlier announcements and preparing complete materials next time. It would also be better to have a short orientation before starting, so everyone knows their assigned areas and safety reminders.
