When I struggle in a class, I ask my sister because she has learned what I am learning because she is in 10th grade. I also might ask a teacher for help if I have a question, or maybe see if I can go to a class for lunch to get caught up if needed. I have people in my family who have a variety of knowledge, so if I need help, I will ask them.- Josiah Chavez (76 words)

I know I can do the work but I first have to learn to balance my time. I struggle in this class the most because it is taking a small concept out of a big text and that is very hard for me to do. Even though there are a lot of answers to the same question, English requires less of a step by step process, and more of a deep thinking process, and that is why I am good at math, and not English. I think that I struggle the most in math class because There's always different rules and things you have to follow when doing different types of math equations.

The first thing that I do when I seem to struggle in a class is figure out what I'm doing wrong. This could be assignments, tests, participation, etc. Another thing that I do when I'm struggling is talk to my parents. They can help tutor me with the class I struggle in and potentially get my grade up in that class. Finally, I talk to my teacher about my grade. This includes asking them what I can do to get my grade up in their class. (86)

The class that I struggle the most in is definitely ELA because I'm not that good at it and my teacher assigns lots of work which I feel like I can never get done in time with all the sports and stuff that I do outside of school. I also am not very good at writing essays and finishing assignments on my own that need lots of writing . ELA overall is just not my strongest subject and I probably need to find a way to get better at it. Word count 89- Gabe

I think it went pretty well, if I keep going over the notes, and things he helped me learn, I was able to understand it. However, sometimes it was just difficult to understand the work, especially when it was help with math. With math, I think its a concept you either understand, or don't at all. Sometimes, I could've spent hours studying, and being tutored by my brother but in the end I still didn't understand it at all. Some methods you could also do are tutoring with a friend or professional, breaking down tasks, and using online resources. These methods make it less complicated and easier to understand for someone who is struggling in a specific subject. Not only are these great methods but just having the right learning environment is also helpful. Aubrey Garcia (83)

I feel this because although my grade in math is stable, I have always struggled in math even in elementary school.

I believe that study sessions require a lot of time and effort. Firstly, tutor has to be patient, slow, and understanding in order to help someone learn. People go at different paces, and if the tutor is going to fast the material is hardly learned. Another thing that makes a study session successful is asking questions. If you are confused, and you don't ask a question, your tutor will move onto a different concept. It takes both people working together to make a study session successful.

86 word counter

Hannah Lopez

I feel that I struggle most in AP Human Geography. This is because my worst grade is in this class, and I have never taken a class like it before. The way the class is structured is very new to me, and it is very reading-based, which I have not experienced before. Because it is an AP class, it was hard for me to know what to expect on the Unit One test, and because of that, I did not do so great. Now I know what I need to do to pass the class, and I should do better on the next test. (104)

I think patience would be a good quality for a tutor because when working with students and their specific needs, you might need to go slower. I also think strong communication and listening skills are important because you should be able to communicate well to students on how to do a specific skill, or listen to what they have to say. Lastly, I think adaptability is important because when you are a tutor, you have many people you are working with, and each person has different needs that they need met.

110 words

-Kierstyn Seay

One is patience, if you are not patient with your client, and you get angry easily, then you will not make your client feel good, and they will not learn. Another is the ability to explain things clearly. This is one of the biggest because if you can't explain clearly, your client won't learn. Finally, it is the ability to make learning, fun so they want to come back and learn more. (82)

For example, the tutor should partially do the problem, and let the student answer the rest, to create a connection. The tutor to end off the lesson should give the student a small practice quiz with fairly hard questions to see if the student has learned anything. The tutor should also have great patience, because sometimes students can get frustrated.

Brandon Scott

Word count 82.

What I think makes a tutoring session successful is making an EQ and having other questions that revolve around the EQ. Another thing that makes a touting session successful is have a place where it's quiet and were you can be comfortable. when you go to a tutoring session you should have topics that you want to go over and you should ask for good studying habits. Those are reasons that make tutoring sessions successful. (75 words)

When I struggle in a class I usually tend ask my teacher for help to actually help me understand it rather than just searching it up. I also watch videos to show how to solve the problem not to just give me the answer. I also go over my notes to help me understand stuff that i’m not good at. That’s what I do when i’m not doing good or when I struggle in a class. 78 words

When I am struggling in class I will do a few things to help myself. One thing I would do first is ask the teacher and if they do not help me I will ask a seat partner. Another thing I will do if I am struggling in a class look up videos on websites to see if they can help me on what I am struggling on. The last thing I would do is ask my older brother.

I believe for a tutoring session to be successful one would need to understand the material they were confused with and are able to solve problems like so. I also believe for a tutoring session to be successful, the tutor needs to show patience, proper communication and a good vibe overall. Finally, for a tutoring session to be successful both the tutor and student need to show that they have both learnt something from one another. (76 words)

Yes I have tried reaching out to the teacher for help or clarification on the material I'm confused about. For example this year I got a couple of the questions wrong on my math homework and I asked the teacher to come help me understand what I did wrong and what I need to do to get the questions right. This is good for me because then I can understand what i'm confused about and will help in the future on tests or upcoming assignments.

(85) - Brock Harward

I believe for a tutoring session to be successful you need student understanding or getting the idea of the subject the tutor is trying to teach. I also think to be successful a tutoring session needs to have open communication and questions answered from the student. After the session the student should not be struggling anymore or have any questions to ask the tutor. If the session is successful the student should go back to school understanding the subject.

I believe when a tutoring session is successful, The person getting tutored knows all about the subject and shouldn't need any clarification anymore. If the student still is asking questions or needs more clarification, they basically didn't learn anything and still are confused. The tutor must be patient, go step by step and give clear examples. The student should give a summary with all that they have learned, unless they didn't learn anything or understand the tutor.

(77)

In math I did bad on the ch.1 test and i don't do problems over and over to make shore I understand the type of problems, I forget to study and sometimes I just don't understand what is being taught to me until I ask a friend or teacher for help. I do understand what is being taught to me most of the time but I don't have enough experience with it and struggle on the tests.

83 Nathan Skinner
