Yes, I have been tutored by my older brother. I think it went pretty well, if I keep going over the notes, and things he helped me learn, I was able to understand it. However, sometimes it was just difficult to understand the work, especially when it was help with math. With math, I think its a concept you either understand, or don't at all. I believe that a successful tutor should be patient with students, and explain the answers thoroughly. Rushing through the answers to get the job done faster is not efficient at all and will not help. People go at different paces, and if the tutor is going to fast the material is hardly learned. Another thing that makes a study session successful is asking questions. Yes, I have tried reaching out to all my teachers to get help. I first reached out to my math teacher and it went okay. He went over all the things I did wrong and recommend problems to help me improve my skills. Next, I reached out to my math teacher. She told me that I have to do a studying/tutoring session before I take the test. So she recommends that I come in for lunch one day to do the studying session then the other I take the test. I feel like the class I struggle the most in is math. Math is hard for me because each year there are new formulas and new rules you have to follow. If you make a slight mistake, it usually effects your answer and the mistake makes your entire equation incorrect. I also tend to struggle in it because each year I've gotten new teachers and they all teach differently meaning I have to relearn formulas in different ways while still learning new ones.

I believe that a tutoring session is successful if the tutor answers the main questions you had at the beginning of the session. For example, if you come in and ask, why does x=y on all of these problems, but on these problems, x=w. If at the end of the session you understand how that works now, then it was a successful session. I feel that I'm doing good in all my classes except for math. I feel this because I need to work on my testing skills. I struggle most in biology because I have never understood science that well. I struggled in science all through middle school. The only reason I got an A is because I did the assignments. I never did well on the test, and I would usually get C's on them. And my science teacher last year was not that great; I never really learned anything in that class. When I struggle in class, I tend to look over the question or problem over again to see if I can still figure it out on my own. If this doesn't work I would go and look over my notes or any previous problems that would help me to solve it. Then I would look over the problem one more time to see if I can solve it. Yes, especially in elementary school i really needed it, I had a tutor from around 2-4 grade to help me with my reading because I was not a good reader. And throughout the years whenever I struggle a little in math I get tutored to help me either with homework or help me understand it more before a test. Usually, that is enough to help me, however, when I am still confused after getting help, I try looking over the assignment again that way my brain is more able to process it. When that also doesn't work, I just try solving or answering the assignment with what I know and check my answer with a friend and/or the teacher.

In a tutoring session I believe to make it successful, is the amount of effort given by the student or /and the tutor. When I am confused I typically ask for help or clarification on the thing that I am confused about. for example, if I don't understand what I did wrong in a math problem after getting my test back and seeing I got that question wrong, I will ask the teacher what I did wrong, and try redoing the problem on my own while following the correct steps, this way I am able to clarify the section of the equation that I messed up and can complete it properly in the future

the class I struggle with most is in math. In math I did bad on the ch.1 test and i don't do problems over and over to make shore I understand the type of problems, I forget to study and sometimes I just don't understand what is being taught to me until I ask a friend or teacher for help.
