duy-7rome

Being famous sounds exciting to many people. Famous people, like actors, singers, or sports players, are known all over the world and have many fans. One big advantage of being famous is that they can use their popularity to help others. For example, they can support charities, talk about important issues, or inspire young people to follow their dreams. Another good thing is that famous people usually earn a lot of money. They can buy nice houses, wear beautiful clothes, and travel to interesting places. Being recognized for their talent and hard work also makes them feel proud and happy.

However, being famous also has many disadvantages. One major problem is losing privacy. Celebrities are followed by cameras and reporters almost everywhere they go, and their personal lives are often shown on TV or the internet. This can make them feel stressed and uncomfortable. Another disadvantage is that fame brings a lot of pressure. Famous people have to look good and behave well all the time because people judge them easily. They may also have fake friends who only care about money or fame, not true friendship. Some famous people even feel lonely because they can’t live a normal life or go out without being noticed.

In conclusion, being famous has both good and bad sides. It brings success, money, and admiration, but it also takes away privacy and peace. Fame may look wonderful, but it can be hard to live with every day.

NHẬT DƯƠNG - 7 ROME

Fame can be both empowering and burdensome, offering extraordinary rewards alongside profound challenges. On the advantageous side, individuals who achieve fame often gain significant wealth, social status, and access to exclusive opportunities that can elevate their personal and professional lives. Their visibility allows them to shape public opinion, advocate for social change, and leave a lasting cultural legacy. However, the disadvantages of fame can be equally intense. Constant public scrutiny often erodes privacy, making it difficult for famous individuals to live authentically or form trusting relationships. The relentless pressure to maintain an idealized image can lead to emotional distress, anxiety, or burnout. Additionally, fame can distort one’s sense of identity, as public perception may overshadow personal truth. Ultimately, while fame offers immense power and influence, it requires exceptional emotional strength, balance, and self-awareness to endure its psychological and social demands.

ANDI - 7ROME

Topic 1: How important are traditions to your family?

Traditions are very important to my family. We believe that following traditions helps us stay connected to our ancestors and our culture. For example, we always celebrate Tết by cleaning the house, cooking traditional foods like bánh chưng, and visiting relatives to give and receive good wishes. During ancestor worship ceremonies, we prepare offerings and light incense to show respect for those who came before us.

Topic 2: Describe your favorite food from your culture

My favorite food from my culture is phở, a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup. It is made with rice noodles, beef or chicken, and a flavorful broth that has been simmered for hours with spices like star anise, cinnamon, and ginger. What makes phở special is the way it brings people together. My family often eats it on weekends or during special occasions, and everyone can add their own toppings like lime, chili, and fresh herbs. The warm, rich flavor of the soup always makes me feel comforted and reminds me of home. Phở is more than just a meal; it represents the care and patience that go into Vietnamese cooking.

Topic 3: Talk about a popular superstition at in your culture.

Another popular superstition in Vietnamese culture is about cutting hair or nails at the beginning of the lunar month or during the New Year. Many people believe that doing so can bring bad luck or cause you to lose your good fortune. Because of this, families often remind each other not to cut their hair or nails during Tết or on the first few days of the lunar month. Instead, they do these things before the New Year starts to “remove the old” and make room for good luck to come. This superstition reflects the Vietnamese belief that even small actions can influence one’s fortune and that it’s important to start each new cycle with positive energy and care.

Topic 4: Talk about your country's traditional clothing

Traditional clothing in Vietnam is the áo dài, a long dress worn over loose pants. It is often made of silk and comes in many colors and designs. Women usually wear it on special occasions like festivals and weddings. Men also have their own version, usually in darker colors and simpler styles. The áo dài is known for its elegant shape that shows both grace and respect. Although most people now wear modern clothes, the áo dài is still a symbol of Vietnamese beauty, tradition, and pride.

Topic 5: How do you think culture shapes individual's perspective and behaviour?

Culture shapes an individual’s perspective and behavior by influencing how they think, act, and communicate with others. It teaches people what is considered respectful, appropriate, or important in their society. For example, in Vietnamese culture, showing respect to elders and valuing family are central beliefs, so people often speak politely and care deeply about their relatives. Culture also affects how people see success, express emotions, and solve problems. In this way, it becomes a guide for daily life, helping individuals understand their place in the community and how to interact with others.

So, homework is helpful, but it should not be too much.

Students should be allowed to use phones during class, but only for educational purposes. Phones can serve as valuable learning tools, giving students quick access to online resources, research materials, and educational apps that can deepen their understanding of lessons. They can also help students stay organized by managing schedules, assignments, and reminders. However, unrestricted phone use can lead to distractions from social media, games, and messaging, which can harm focus and participation. Therefore, schools should encourage responsible phone use by setting clear guidelines that allow phones to support learning while preventing misuse. All though it’s a good educational place but students may use phones for other things.

Many young people want to join platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat, but the question is whether students under 15 should use them. There are both good and bad sides to this issue.

On one hand, using social media at a young age can cause problems. It can help young people stay connected with friends and family, learn new things, and express their creativity. When used with guidance from parents or teachers, it can even teach children how to behave safely and responsibly online.

The best solution might be balance. Social media has both advantages and disadvantages. So, should students under 15 use social media ?

Firstly, through social media, students can maintain their friendships and connect with peers who share similar ideas or hobbies. Memories with friends from old school or neighbourhood might fade away but students can keep in touch with their friends even from far away. Through social media, students with hobbies can join communities which share the same ideas that may not be possible to find in physical surroundings.

Still, social media also has drawbacks. Through social media, students can get cyber bullied or lied to by strangers. With the large amount of screentime they use, they might get unhealthy eyes or other muscles. Through U.S. Surgeon General and Common Sense Media, students from 13 to 18 use social media about 3.5 to 5.8 hours, which at the alarm level.

I do not think students under 15 should use social media because it can cause many problems for their health and learning. At that age, students are still learning how to control their emotions and make smart choices. Social media can create stress, jealousy, and pressure when they compare themselves to others online. Many young students also waste too much time scrolling instead of studying or playing sports in real life. They can also see lies, bad information, or harmful comments that can affect their self confidence. For these reasons, it is better for students under 15 to wait until they are older before using social media. Then they can be more responsible and protect themselves from the dangers that exist online.

Phones are tools that bring many benefits for students in learning at school, but they can also be a source of problems that distract students. Therefore, “Should students be allowed to use their phones at school?” is a question that parents and teachers are often confused about. In my opinion, students shouldn’t use phones at school because it is not a good habit. First, phones distract students through social media such as YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. These apps are designed to grab attention, while studying requires a quiet, focused mind. When these two collide, students cannot concentrate, which reduces the quality of learning. For example, a student may intend to watch a short video but end up spending hours scrolling. Second, when students use their phones excessively, they become dependent on them even for simple tasks. This weakens their ability to think independently and reduces their creativity and problem-solving skills. Third, when students spend too much time looking at screens, they communicate less with teachers and classmates. This weakens the classroom community and limits collaborative learning opportunities, making lessons less effective. Fourth, excessive phone use can affect students’ mental health. Constant notifications and comparisons on social media can lead to stress, anxiety, or poor sleep, which in turn negatively impacts their academic performance. In conclusion, although phones are useful learning tools, their negative effects—such as distraction, dependence, reduced communication, and impact on mental health—outweigh the benefits in school. Therefore, students should not use phones during school hours to ensure a productive and healthy learning environment.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any teenager exceeding the age of 13, perhaps younger, must be in need of a cell phone. However, whether these phones should be permitted within school hours is a topic often debated, with most schools opting for policies that prohibit cell phones in class. I believe such a stance is the preferable one because phones - although undeniably helpful in some educational aspects - are a source of distraction in others. The "brain drain" hypothesis asserts that the "mere presence" of a cell phone takes up mental space, reducing a person’s capacity and analytical ability for other tasks. Even when a person is successfully focusing on a task, the effort needed to avoid the temptation of checking the phone reduces available working memory capacity and functional fluid intelligence. Put simply, humans cannot multitask. People's functional IQ drops by 10 points when they try to do so, about the same effect as smoking marijuana or losing a night's sleep. Multitasking and fending off temptations are even harder for young students, whose brains are still in formation. The restriction or even removal of phones altogether would indubitably eliminate such diversions. Moreover, cell phone bans advance educational goals. Studies abound with supporting evidence that students who are not in possession of their cell phones (or connected devices such as smartwatches) perform better academically, take more detailed notes, and recall more information from lectures, scoring higher. Furthermore, with artificial intelligence and search engines easily at their disposal, students will not only look up answers but also generate text, evading assignments and thus destroying the main point of school. Therefore, although phones prove useful for communication, their negative aspects far outweigh the positives. From there, it is easy to conclude that students should not use phones during school hours to ensure effectiveness and productivity in school environments.
