One to One Friendships

Best Buddies creates these friendships through people who do and do not have IDD. They provide friendships during this time of heightened social and emotional development, which can be hard on people.

Leadership Development

Through this program Best Buddies educates and empowers people with and without IDD to become strong impactful leaders, public speakers, and advocates for what they believe in. Best Buddies believes in creating a strong leader within communities to create an inclusive world for everyone to fit in.

Best Buddies organization has the option of volunteering to help end the isolation of 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are opportunities in every state if you are looking to get further involved.

In high school, we all were in different clubs that helped with special needs children and doing different activities with them. It was so rewarding being involved in this club and we all loved helping with disabled students.

At WCU, best buddies does different activities throughout the year to help get students involved around campus!

Without Best Buddies people with IDD would have a much harder time making connections and getting involved in their community. Giving people these easy access opportunities improves their quality of life and provides happiness and fun through families of people with IDD.

Attending local or national events is one way to get involved in Best Buddies organization. At these events you will be given the opportunity to experience Best Buddies' mission in action.
