With so many options and opportunities, padlet can transform you classroom.]]> 2022-10-04 14:15:07 UTC https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2325790570 Incorporating Padlet into the Classroom vw04163 https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2325831213 With its many features and tools, Padlet can easily be incorporated into any classroom.  When I first began exploring Padlet, I thought about how I could use it on our county digital learning days.  During these days, students often have questions and want to connect with their classmates.  I could create a padlet on my class page that would allow students to post their questions and communicate with each other.  As I explored deeper and thought about other ways to incorporate Padlet, I thought about how great it would be for my students to have a common place for notes and anchor charts.  I could create Padlets for each unit and add our class notes.  Students would have opportunities throughout the unit to add their own thoughts, notes, and have discussions about the unit.  I think this would be a great way for students to look back on their learning and review before an assessment.

  Padlet could also be a great tool to use during our social emotional learning lessons/discussions.  Padlet would be such an easy way to allow students to get to know each other.  I could set up a Padlet with different columns of questions.  Students could answer the questions and learn more about each other.  I could also create a Padlet to poll students' ideas and/or feelings about a topic or discussion.  Finally, Padlet would be a great tool to use for formative data.  Posting a “ticket out the door” question on a Padlet would allow students to show their understanding and learn from others' understanding.

]]> 2022-10-04 16:38:49 UTC https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2326082872 Drawbacks vw04163 https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2326106451 Although this is a great digital platform, there are a few cons to using Padlet in the classroom.  One of the biggest drawbacks, in my opinion, is how difficult it is to regulate students' posts.  Padlet does have a feature that allows the creator of the board to filter content.  This would allow teachers to approve each post.  From my experience, it is difficult to keep up with the post when students are trying to have meaningful discussions.  Along with this is the ability for students to post anonymously.  Oftentimes students will use the ability to post anonymously as a way to post inappropriate things.  This doesn’t allow teachers to know who is posting and have discussions with those students.  Altogether, these are the main two drawbacks that I found when using Padlet. ]]> 2022-10-04 16:51:25 UTC https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2326106451 Resource #2 vw04163 https://padlet.com/vw04163/hrols956roe8o6qq/wish/2328190799 This study looked at the use of Padlet as an assessment tool of students writing skills in an online classroom. The study discussed how Padlet can be used to teach student and assess their writing. The study found that students responded in a positive way to the use of Padlet.
