Direct him to resources like the Singapore's Green Plan 2030 to help him draw some connections to find out more. 
Help him bridge the gap to see how existing professional roles in green industry contribute to the community.
Help him see that sustainability cuts across industries e.g. manufacturing, engineering, finance and match his interests/strengths to narrow his focus so he can find out what kinds of skills are needed for the industry.
