A government does not have to be many branches like ours, it can be just 1 person.<br><br>Greece had 4 different forms of government during its prime. These were monarchy, oligarchy, tyranny, and finally democracy.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A citizen is a legal resident of a certain area,  either native or immigrated. <br><br>A citizen in ancient Greece had a fully different meaning than today. Greeks could only be a citizen if they were a white male who lived in his home town. <br>Most of these people are probably citizens, whereas in ancient Greece only a few of them would be.</div>]]></description>

The crown is passed down to the royal couple's firstborn, and this can go on through long dynasties.<br><br>The first form of Greek government was a monarchy. There were multiple long lines of kings and queens from the same family before monarchy was overthrown.</div>]]></description>

Some tyrannies have been very well liked by the people.<br><br>The people of Greece were tired of the aristocrats ruling them, so they rose up and, knowing they had the advantage of numbers, overthrew the oligarchy. That's what congress and that stuff is for. Greece did not have a representative democracy, but they had a direct democracy after they overthrew the oligarchy and the tyrant died.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Direct Democracy</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A direct democracy is when the people vote for everything and there are no representatives making all the big decisions.<br><br>Greece had a direct democracy in which all citizens could vote for their leader and their laws. This may sound good, but the only people who were allowed to be citizens were adult white males that lived in their hometown.  </div>]]></description>
