Why I chose "Heartless"...

Marissa Meyer is definitely my favorite author. I am really, really, really into her books, although I had only read four of her books, "The Lunar Chronicles" series. I cannot express how much I enjoy her books... "The Lunar Chronicles" has a really interesting plot that can satisfy any readers. To me, it is even more attractive than the series "Harry Potter". That is the reason why I chose "Heartless" as my third independent reading book, after "Thirteen Reasons Why", and "What Light". Its cover is perfectly beautiful, which arouses my expectation of a well-written book. I HIGHLY recommend her books to you guys because I am 100% sure you guys are gonna love it crazily just like me after reading the first book in this series, "Cinder". Here is the link if you guys want to take a look: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36381037-cinder?ac=1&from_search=true

My Thought while reading "Heartless"

The character makes me feel vexatious most is the King. He is... I don't know, he does not deserve the throne at all, especially with his poor proficiency. He is too injudicious, feckless, and cowardly to rule a country. I cannot imagine how a character like him is able to exist on Earth. Whenever he appears, my patience is being challenged... Believe me, I have to calm myself down every time he did something stupid.
Well, I would say I like the main character, Catherine. She is willing to sacrifice anything for her beloved. She is brave, resolute, and passionate. I must amid at first, I did not like Catherine because I thought she is kinda feeble. But later, I found that I have some kind of connection to her. I empathized with everything she did, every thought she thought of, every feeling she felt. In other words, Catherine is a successfully well-developed character by Marrisa Meyer. I felt like she is almost another version of me. If I was her, I think I would do exactly the same thing.
Another character causes me to think back lots is Jest, the court Joker. I guess he is exactly the kind of guys girls usually find attractive to...? I am not sure about this though, but comparing him with the King (not including the King's throne and wealth), no one would choose the second.

- Catherine: She is a pretty lady, who is fond of baking. She is brave, sweet, and willing to risk her life for the ones she loves.
- Jest: He is kinda flirty with me. He knows what are his advantages, and he uses them wisely. I think he is brave, thoughtful, and passionate.
- The King: Seriously, he is silly, and don't like him.
