Galileo Galilei was born on the 15th February 1564 in Pisa. He was an astronomer, physicist and mathematician. He made a lot of discoveries like the isochrony of the pendulum, the satellites of Jupiter and the moonspots. He developed a telescope, based on the Dutch one, that allowed him to support the heliocentric view of the universe. Galileo was also a writer, his main works are: the Sidereus Nuncius, the Copernicans letters, the Essayist and the Dialogue of the two greatest systems of the world.

The Italian astronomer believed that conducting experiments was the correct way to achieve scientific knowledge. For this reason he invented the experimental method. It is applied in physics and biology. This method starts with the observation of  phenomenon a and the formulation of a question. Then there is a hypothesis , that is a proposed answer or an explanation. Then  theory concerning the phenomenon is developed from the results of the experiment. This method goes from the particular to the universal.

Darwin is famous for having formulated the theory of the evolution of species and even wrote a book about it in eighteen hundred and fifty nine.

The theory of the evolution of species says that the forms and characters of all living beings come from those of a group of common ancestors .

Furthermore he also wrote numerous work such as: “Journey of a globetrotting naturalist”, “autobiography”,”the espression of emotions in humans and animals”, “insectivorus plants”.
