1. His constant mention of how the father watched out for the son and studied their surroundings because it shows how much the father loves his son rather than just stating it. It is more subtle. And despite the fact that they are losing hope they are looking out for each other.
2. When we annotated, I actually started to notice how the literary devices were used and when they were used.

The dark beyond darkness resonated most with me because it told me that it wasn't just dark at night that even when the sun came up it was still dark and that shows how lonely and dark the setting is. Question 2
When I was just reading it I just thought it was a normal book and nothing special but once I started annotating the details and pictures became way more clear and it helped me understand the book way more.

1."Each the other's world entire" This quote stuck with me because it just shows how much the son and father need each other to survive this apocalyptic time.
2. Annotating helped me see lines and more important meaning to lines in the text and gave me a more in indepth self explanation of the passage.

1.) "looked toward the east for any light but there was none." this resonated with me because it shows the possibility of the world one day and it shows the effect of extreme sadness.
2.) Annotating made me stop and individually read each sentence rather than just skimming the text and not comprehending what was written. It made me stop and understand each line individually rather than a average text.

1) The lines that resonated with me were "Then they set out along the blacktop in the gunmetal light, shuffling through the ash, each the other's world entire," due to how the lines reflect the book from the idea i have about it.

2)Annotating helped me realize that there are many literary devices and many ways to use the devices.

Crouching...pale and naked and translucent, its alabaster bones cast up in shadow on the rocks behind it. Its bowels, its beating heart. The brain that pulsed in a dull glass bell."
- The imagery I get from this part of the story is amazing. I can truly see the creature and its motions
