Henry Morton Stanley was initially sent to the Congo by King Leopold II to steal land from the native people of Congo, however whilst there Stanley was under the impression that he was better than the others who lived in Congo, and often beat them, worked them to death, or just outright killed them, he had even admitted to knowing that what he was doing was wrong.
