The Greeks fought against the trojans for 10 years. The Greeks could not get into the trojans wall so they have to try a new strategy. The Greeks pretended to surrender and they left a large wooden horse with a Greek raiding party. So the trojans thought the horse was a gift. So they opened their gates and brought the horse with the Greek raiders inside. The entire Greek army was hiding around the island so when the raiding party got in they opened the gates for the Greek army, and the Greeks burnt down the city and got Helen back.
