(Early Intervention & Prevention Service) focus on helping children and young  people who experience emotional, behavioural, and other psychological difficulties. The  Early Intervention & Prevention Service provides comprehensive support for children,  young people, and their families through a multi-disciplinary team. Help is offered through  direct work with young people and/or indirect work with and alongside other professionals  (via joint working, signposting, group work, professional consultation, training and/or multi  agency partnership arrangements).  

Provides intensive support and opportunities to vulnerable young people in Gwynedd between 16 and 25 years old. GISDA seeks to improve young people’s lives by  working with them to  develop their independent living skills and improve their employability, health and wellbeing and sense of self-worth. Projects include supporting young parents, raising awareness of homelessness across schools,  finding and providing accommodation for young people, supporting transitions to employment and social enterprises such as the café in Caernarfon.

We have now completed the 12-month development phase. Two young people were appointed as Voice and Inclusion Workers, and their role was to work with the Partnership and other services/groups/individuals across both counties to ensure that young people's voices were heard. This information gathered now sets the path for the next three years.

The information gathered over the past 12 months came from specific target groups. These were;

•       Girls (younger)

•       Older girls (16-25)

•       LGBTQ+

•       Those living in poverty (urban/rural)

•       BAME – black/black British

•       Disabled – young disabled (not broken into physical disability/ long term illness, learning disability, ASD)

•       Young homeless

•       Young Carers

•       Young people in the care system

•       Those who live in rural areas.

•       Welsh language speakers

•       Neurodiverse young people 

•       Travellers 

•       Young boys

•       Older boys 

•       Young people who have experienced trauma

         Control groups 

•       School Councils

Mind our Future Evaluators – People & Work in partnership and Sylfaen Wledig are the evaluators for the entire project– they will focus on the findings of the North Wales Population Assessment 2022 as well as other key data for the target groups, namely the groups of young people. "Desk based scoping review" attached explains more.

We are currently in this exciting phase, the Delivery Phase. We have three Change Enablers appointed and the main aim of their role is to respond to the information shared by the young people (in the first year) to improve their resilience to ensure a sustainable and mentally healthy future.

The Community of Practice is a space to talk about voice and influence practice. You may know lots about voice and influence, you might have some understanding, or you might know nothing at all about it and that’s okay, anyone and everyone that supports young people aged 11-25 in Gwynedd and Anglesey are welcome to join.
