As a higher up, they were not honest with their team or their investors. on the truth about the product not working. If they were honest with their team, they’ve could’ve worked with their research engineers to get something close to keep investors interested.

1) diligence - right in the middle, this group did their due diligence by asking for more information but also could have dug further.

2) they asked for clarification from higher ups, which was the right action to take, but further course of action could have been to press more or discuss their doubts more with colleagues

Solely trusting in the qualifications lead to this group being used to fund a faulty product. Better discernment of the claims would help to reduce this.
