      <description>Dr. Scott Altschuler is an established presence in the Port St. Lucie, Florida medical community who leads Treasure Coast GI. In this position, he provides patients with high quality gastroenterology care including colonoscopies for colon cancer screenings and endoscopy procedures. Dr. Scott Altschuler also provides patient-centered care that spans all areas of gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn&#39;s disease and ulcerative colitis, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), diarrhea, constipation as well as liver diseases.

Dr. Altschuler entered into Florida practice in 2008 after completing a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Initially treating patients in an established Fort Myers FL practice, he transitioned to Port St. Lucie on the east coast of Florida in 2011 to be closer to his family. Following five years as an employees physician at the Heart and Family Health Institute, he established his own current practice.

Also a teaching assistant at the NOVA Southeastern University College of Medicine, Dr. Altschuler occasionally works with a variety of medical students and residents in mentoring capacities. In his free time, Dr. Scott Altschuler enjoys activities such as traveling, fishing and spending time with his family.</description>
