Well they can ! According to Joan Roughgarden's lecture, hundreds of animals such as fish, seahorse, and many more display homosexuality and have their roles reversed. Such as the fact that in seahorses, seahorses are the ones that carry the baby and take care of it rather than the females. Unfortunately, many people aren't educated on things like this due to the fact that books in science always fail to mention the fact that there are animals that mate female x female or male x male. But there are many animals that show us that homosexuality is a natural thing that exists not only within humans but within animals as well. Some examples of these animals are: Bonobos, Dolphins, Spotted Hyenas, and even Penguins !

Colors in LGBTQIA+

Rainbows are considered to be typically unique and rare to see. I'd like to use a rainbow to compare it to the LGBTQIA+ community in America and other countries. The rainbow is the gay community's flag and it was chosen well for many reasons. To represent its unique and beautiful colors as well as the fact that the LGBT community is considered a minority. As a pansexual, latina woman in America I am to be considered a minority; a rare, unique rainbow amongst my kind. To be a rainbow is to be beautiful and unique in the best ways possible. To be a rainbow is to have the diversity of not just one color...but many colors. To be a rainbow one must accept that there is more than 1 color and more than 1 identification. Just like being a part of this community is a beautiful and unique representation on its own.

Books Enhance Brains

Readings such as articles, books, magazines and many more types of media which involve reading enhance the readers brain and allows them to look at things from other perspectives. One reading that we had in this class was Steralized In The Name of Public Health by Alexandra Minna Stern. In this reading, Stern opens our eyes and shows us the tragedies that women would go through back then. According to Stern, Indiana passed the countries first sterilization law in 1907. It is a human right to be able to have children and also be able to abort fetuses, why should women be forcefully steralized ? Why should they have the rights over their own bodies taken away by powerful men in the government? Stern sheds light onto the crime that is taking away a womans right over their own body. Without authors such as Stern showing us the ugly truth that is often hidden away from history books and the media, we would be nowhere ! We would be back in square one. Thus, reading and writing on these topics are for the better of our humanity.

Latin Terms

Everyone uses different terms to define themselves. Many people have preferences for their pronouns and backgrounds. According to the video, "What's the difference between Hispanic, Latino and Latinx?" (2021) The argument over what term should be used for people of latin descent is an ongoing controversial topic. As a latina woman who's parents are from El Salvador and Mexico, I don't appreciate being referred to as "white" since I was born in Southern California. I did not grow up with the same privilage your average white american family would grow up with. I grew up with beans, tortillas, and an EBT card. My parents are both undocumented which also led to the loss of many benefits that white families are born into. Whatever term you use to describe yourself, is up to YOU if you are of latin descent. I am a proud first generation Latina and I will continue to be for the rest of my life.

Other countries aren't so lucky

According to author Priya Kandaswami, there is a difference between the way women of descent other than white such as Asia are treated when it comes to crimes having to do with feminist and basic human being rights. Kandaswami says, "The only two women charged for their own loss of their pregnancies come from asian decent" This is a very important detail to note because women of any color, race, or background should have the right to be able to do as they wish with their bodies without being penalized and criminalized.
