Gairebé tots els rèptils viuen a terra,per on és desplacen reptant,és a dir,arrosegant-se.


Encara que la majoria són terrestres,n’hi ha alguns,com ara el cocodril,que viuen a prop de l’aigua,i a vegades s’hi fiquen i neden,i n’hi ha altres,com la serp d’aigua o la tortuga d’aigua, que viuen sempre a l’aigua.
