Reading Journal Prompts:
Reading journals will be collected every Friday of that week. 
Week 1: Choose one character in your book and track their emotions/behaviors/and interactions with others in the novel. Keep tracking this throughout the novel in your reading journal.
Week 2: Write a letter to someone from the perspective of the main character. Make sure that it is relatable to the novel. You are going to want to be specific and detailed in your letter so that I am able to tell that you are writing from the main character's perspective.
Week 3: Create an alternate ending to your novel. Make sure your are writing as if you were the author not as a critic.

  • How do you feel about how the story was told? Was it too fast paced? Was it too slow and felt like it was dragging on for forever?

  • Do you agree with how the author portrayed the characters in the book? 
  • What changed about the story since last week's discussion? Was this what you were predicting to happen?

Since each of our novels have a main character with something that makes them different than many books that we have read we are going to create super-sized baseball cards of the main characters and this is where we will discuss not only the book but also what makes your character unique.
